“I had a disappointing experience with Old Dominion Freight Line regarding a damaged freight shipment.
ODFL handled both the original shipment to me and a follow-up shipment I arranged back to the supplier. The freight was picked up in perfect condition, which I documented with photos. Upon delivery, the receiving warehouse immediately identified visible damage. The ODFL driver was notified on-site and acknowledged the damage in their app before unloading.
Despite this, my damage claim was denied by their claims representative, who incorrectly cited a tariff clause that does not apply to my situation. I provided clear documentation — including original BOLs, photos, invoices, and proof that ODFL handled both shipments — yet I was told the only compensation would be $0.10 per pound.
I filed formal complaints with ODFL's HR and Compliance departments due to the mishandling and misapplication of their own policies, but the issue remains unresolved. The representative also refused further communication unless I amended the claim to accept their incorrect position.
Very disappointed in how this was handled. I expected more professionalism and accountability from a national carrier. I will be escalating this to federal transportation authorities and other regulatory channels.”

“The boxes showed up smashed. One of the three units received was damaged. The driver claims he waited for three hours outside the building (he was parked on the public street and was not there three hours). He then claimed we opened and inspected the boxes in front of him. Four of us that work then, and the security guard, can all testify that we did not open the boxes until the next day when we found a damaged caster on one of the devices.”
