“My daughter is doing her GCSEs with open study college the ‘tutor support’ is basically non existent. History for example has one assessment per question that will appear on the exam. This is hardly suffient to confirm that the course material is known to an adequate level to pass the exam. When asking how she could improve the grade we were told to buy another book despite the course details saying everything is included in the course. She is studying 7 GCSEs with them and this is the level of support she has been given when these course cost around £400. She could have accessed the material for free in other places if we had know there would not be support.”

“I enrolled in a course with Open Study College, fully expecting to receive the high level of tutor support and quality of materials that they advertise. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Firstly, the tutor support that was promised simply didn’t exist. After receiving a single introductory email from my assigned tutor, Teodora, I reached out with a follow-up question, but never received any response. I sent additional emails, including one to the correct address provided, but was met with silence. Open Study College claims their tutors are responsive within 24 hours – this couldn’t be further from my experience. Even worse, during a period of 2-3 months where I wasn’t able to log in or continue with the course, there was zero outreach from the tutor or the college to check on my progress or offer support. This complete lack of engagement is unacceptable, especially for a distance learning course where communication is crucial. When I raised these issues with Open Study College, their responses were dismissive, claiming they hadn’t received my emails and suggesting I switch to a new course or extend my tutor support. However, none of these "solutions" addressed the core issues of poor communication and a lack of tutor engagement. Despite my clear dissatisfaction with the course content and tutor support, they showed no willingness to admit any wrongdoing. To make matters worse, when I researched further, I found many other complaints online that echoed my experience. It’s clear that this is not an isolated incident. For anyone considering Open Study College, I would strongly advise you to research carefully and be aware that the level of support and quality they promise may not be what you actually receive. My experience has left me feeling frustrated, and I will not be recommending this service to anyone.”

“It took me a total of 2 months to be able to do the actual course I signed up for because their website wasn't working and learner services didn't bother trying to help after multiple emails and phone calls. They refused to refund it due to their 'policy' even though I had only had access to the course for 12 hours, and to top it off, the Ohana website doesn't even work properly. would not recommend to anyone, huge money-making scam.”

“They constantly sending me emails with discounts and promotions to start more courses, even though i called them to unsubscribe to the promotions and they agreed to stop. They keep bombarding my email with annoying advertisement several times a week. They dont give me any support with my spelling because of my dyslexia as promised they would. The textbook they recommended for the course has the wrong answers, and they refuse to help me find the right ones. They told me that i personaly need to contact the publisher even though it was me who paid for the course and the books, and after contacting the publisher (pearsons) I still didnt get the right answers to the very expensive textbook. The links on their online course rarely work and am ask to do tasks based on those links to nowhere. On top of all that, I don't even know how my teachers look like If I knew how horrible they were, I would definitely have chosen a different school. I honestly don't know how they have such high reviews.”

“What a nightmare, firstly they inundate you with marketing and calls but with a very helpful and friendly learning advisor and once they have your money and your commitment they disappear. Not a great service. the materials i received, for the fee paid i expected more. Also, found pout that although i was enrolled with OSC my course came from another provider that OSC use. I later found out that the college i enrolled with was not as such a college more a market place for others selling their below average courses at an inflated cost by this company. Refunded and went elsewhere.”
