“I ordered from OTC and was initially please with my purchase until I discovered I was involuntarily signed up for a loyalty subscription. I was charged $14.95 twice. When I called to ask about the charges the person on the phone made it seem like I chose to join the subscription which I DID NOT. I’m calling my bank to have the charges reversed. Beware of this company.”
“Do NOT buy from Oriental Trading Company. I bought Christmas candles from Oriental trading company in December 2023. The candles were fine. Today, I received a notice from American Express that I was charged $16.28 to a Oriental trading company. When I called about this, since I had not ordered anything in this calendar year, they said I was signed up for Fun Rewards Plus membership and I had been paying $16.28 every month since last December. I was not at all aware of this. I did not realize I was signed up. Customer service said I took a $10 discount which automatically enrolled me in this program. I have many years of education. and this was done in such an underhanded way, I was not aware of it. They clearly intend to catch people in this program unaware. I have never been notified that I was in this program until I was alerted by American Express. They said they notified me quarterly, but I did not get any such email. (It is possible it was going to spam.) I can only wonder how many people they have caught in this scam. The first person I spoke to offered a refund of 4 months which would be $65.12 of the $146.52 they took through this scam. The second offered 6 months refund. Still leaving them with almost $50 profit from$ this deception.”
“Absolute trash customer service. 30 day return policy because it will take you 30 days to get in contact with anyone. Guy on phone was straight up rude too. They don't stand behind their 3rd party vendors, so they just pawn their upset customers off on them. Will never order from them again. Would rather go through Temu. Never an issue with doing returns with Amazon or Walmart. Don't fall for a cheaper price. The quality of their products will make you want to return it...then you're out $$ having to ship it back.”

“Oriental trading has an ongoing scam as evidenced by previous reviews. When ordering a one time purchase , they sign up unaware customers to a "club" with an ongoing monthly charge.
When I called their customer service, they promised to reimburse the charges but they did not. How sad that a major company would knowingly dupe their customers.”
“I noticed a recurring charge on my bank account for $15.94 per month from January to September of this year. I purchased a ‘religious’ gift online for my grandson. There must have been some fine print in the order and I was automatically enrolled in the rewards program. I only realized this because I recevied a check in June for $2.04 from FUN REWARDS. Not knowing what it was for, I didn’t cash it but it kept gnawing at me. In Sept, I saw the recurring charges and saw that I was charged 9 times. I called the company to ask for reimbursement. They told me then it was for my FUN REWARDS subscription and would I like to cancel. That told me that they are aware of their scam. They would only reimburse me for 6 of the 9 charges, stating that their accounting dept would not permit them to go any further. BUYER BEWARE! Read everything. I’ve been ordering from OTC for years. I never thought they would stoop so low. But they did, and now I am wiser for it.”
