Resently bought a van from Paynes garage. The young man that sorted everything Kyran was very polite very knowledgeable and explained things very well. It was a pleasure to sit and listen. Nothing was to.much trouble for him. My son and I are both plasterers and we will certainly buy again. Clive & Richard Walton

Inefficient and inexperienced staff. They kept van over 2weeks and waiting for part to arrive and will take another 3days to fixed which not guaranteed yet. I will say to avoid getting booking in garage

We've purchased two cars from Hinckley Paynes garage just off the A5. The sales rep is Trevor Price what a lovely fella, and a great guy, very helpful alway's accommodating as far as he can & he has a great sense of humour and has helped us a great deal, when weve been stuck on access controls on the control panel at the front inside our car when weve forgotten how to do something and have had to go back to him a week later😅, and he's given us great deals too on both vehicles. Thank you very much Trevor we appreciate your advice and your guidance. He's a 5☆☆☆☆☆ Guy.

Booked my vehicle in for a service and mot and recieved a msg confirming the booking. On arrival at the garage the girl at reception had no records of such appointment which had only been made the day prior, after much confusion another lady came over and was shown the msg on my phone and managed to find the booking, I left the vehicle with them waiting for the collection call, after agreeing an end bill of nearly £400 which wasn't a major issue considering what was done I recieved a call at 4:30 pm to come and collect my vehicle and was promptly reminded that 5:15 was the last pick up time a little annoying considering they had my vehicle since 10am and had to travel in rush hour from Coventry which they was aware of, finally when i arrived at the garage I noticed they had even bothered to clean the car which normally is standard with a service and considering my overall bill I thought it would of been a given. After settling my bill I asked the girl at reception what the reason was for the vehicle not been cleaned which she responded with its because of covid I was unaware that someone cleaning a car outside was such a risk hazard shame they didn't display the same concern when the lady behind the desk took my phone of me to read my confirmation email earlier in the morning. Its a round trip of around 20 miles for me to take my car to this garage as I've always been impressed with the personal touch however this seems to of been lost of late and i may save my petrol next time and stay more local.

We recently bought a new Ford Puma Automatic through Paynes of Hinckley, which we are very pleased with. Chris Luff, the salesman, made the whole process stress-free. He allowed us to have a test drive in both the manual and automatic versions to enable us to choose which one we were going to purchase. We have been using Paynes of Hinckley to purchase new cars for a considerable amount of years and always found them to be very accommodating and we would definitely recommend them to anyone who is considering purchasing a new car. Thank you once again Chris for all your help and patience.

In 2019 my then 75 year old father bought a family car a Ford SMAX (used) it had 19,000 miles on the clock. Upon the test drive of the vehicle the car Juddered slightly and when we asked why the sales guy Trevor informed us it was due to the fact the vehicle had been stood for a while. (We now know why this happened) 6 weeks after purchase the gear box failed. As the car was under warranty it was “fixed“ we was told a brand new gear box was put in Trevor told us it was a 24 month guarantee (another lie told us by Paynes) In January this year 16 months after the gear box was replaced it failed again. We had no use of the car since February as it was un drivable . PAYNES are a main Ford dealership. I called them in February they wernt interested in dealing with the issue and told me to call Ford. After asking to talk to the manger I was told on numerous occasions he was unavailable a reoccurring issue throughout this complaint. I asked for the number for Ford and was told they didn’t have it if have to google it. As the car was on finance I got intouch with the finance company who took on the complaint. My father asked me to deal with the complaint on his behalf as it was causing an impact on his health with the stress of having to battle with Paynes they were so rude and unhelpful. Daniel the sales manager of Paynes has said on a conversation “well why are we talking to you not your dad can he not speak for himself?” As my father is now 76 he is vulnerable. On several occasions we were told that people were unavailable and not once got called by anyone on their team promises of phone calls that never happened. We had been asked to submit an independent report which we did from Driver Transmissions (requested by the finance company) Driver Transmissions told us that the Ford SMAX were renowned for dual clutch/ gear box failure. The finance company had an independent investigation done on the car by DEKRA on that report it stated. The car had actually had a new gear box put in at 8,500 miles (which wasn’t declared on sale to us or any service history or documentation or anything given to us at point of sale) and then a “RECONDITIONED gear box was added” in 2019 6 weeks after our purchase and we was told it was a new one. The car wasn’t fixed on the first opportunity for the garage to fix the issue. So Paynes had lied about the new gear box infact it was a reconditioned gear box and wasn’t brand new and also took information out of the service and documentation history of the car. After 15 weeks of fighting with Paynes they tried every under hand tactic in the book. Paynes said our investigation wasn’t enough, the independent investigation done by Dekra requested by the finance company wasn’t enough, they would need the car to do a Ford investigation. On their own finding it mirrored what had been said in the last 2 reports. It was then said that they would unwind the agreement on the vehicle if they charged us 45p per mile which was over £6000 for usage! (Even though we pay finance on the car)or they would fix the gear box if we paid half (this would be the cars 4th gear box and only done 34,500 miles) they then said that there was significant damage on the car there wasn’t. They wanted to charge for damage too. They have said they are seeking legal counsel against us. Bearing in mind all reports stated that it wasn’t fix properly an the fix had failed. They misold the car fraudulently by withholding information regarding the vehicle. Then tried everything to bully my dad into not Pursuing rejection by making it as difficult as possible. Lying about “significant damage“ on the vehicle when the car wasn’t sold as new it wasn’t in perfect condition when it was sold to us an there was no more damage on the vehicle than after purchase. Paynes also failed to prove evidence of any of this to the finance company or provide proof that the vehicle had anymore damage on it than the condition it was sold to us at. Paynes still have possession of the vehicle to this day I’ve had to pay monthly instalments and all the other costs such as insurance and tax. Fortunately the finance company have rejected the vehicle now as Paynes still continue to drag their feet. They are more like dodgy backstreet dealers than a reputable Ford Dealership AVOID at all costs! The only decent person was the poor lad Ollie that worked in the sales office as a messenger for the highly un professional Daniel who clearly wouldn’t take our calls he was always busy and rude to me every time we spoke. This matter has been escalated further within Ford thankfully the Financial Ombudsman are now involved along with trading standards.

This review refers to buying a used vehicle. If you get a good used vehicle it will be smiles all round. If it happens to be a lemon, you'll be more or less on your own and will have to rely on the warranty - make sure you get one and the longer the better. My warranty has now expired and the vehicle is still not right.

Can booked in for Tuesday night service etc due to being a fleet working van and now Sunday still not got back!! My engineer called in and was told they haven’t got enough staff!!! They had instructions to call my office if there was a problem....nothing!! Tried calling for answers but impossible to get through as nobody answers!!! Complete joke!!!! Wouldn’t even give them 1 star but site won’t allow! I know it’s trying times and I get that but a phone call would have helped!!! Nick NMF

Great family run Ford dealership. Dealt with Trevor when buying first car for my son and he was so helpful. Not pushy. Listened to our requirements and gave us some good options with really good price. Great service with lots of extras you'd normally have to pay for elsewhere: 1 year warranty, 1 year AA cover, free service / MOT, free tank of petrol. Reasonably priced service plan. We were so pleased that we've gone back to Paynes and just bought our second car for our other son. Fantastic deal again and Trevor was great again. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. Tradecentre Uk and Evans Halshaw have a lot to learn from Paynes!!

Outrage! I rang up Paynes of Hinckley to see if there was a way of getting a new locking wheel nut key (bit) which I thought they would be able to to which they told me there was no way of getting a new one... Although I already did my research online. So feeling rather skeptical I rang up the Ford garage in Lutterworth and they gave me three different options to solve this issue and two of these options included them ordering me a new key for my locking wheel nuts whereas Paynes said I couldn't get a new one... So if anything is gained from this review DON'T GO TO PAYNES FOR ISSUES LIKE THIS!

Three weeks ago whilst travelling to work I hit a badger which subsequently caused a significant amount of damage. Wheel liner, front air deflector and of course the front bumper assembly which had a massive chunk taken out. I felt a bit sorry for the badger but that disappeared as soon as I realised how much it would cost from the early estimates but most of all the small task of finding a good body repair shop that could bring my nearly-10 year old focus back to life. Enter Paynes of Hinckley in Leicester and the first person I spoke to at Paynes, Theresa Forryan. From start to finish my experience with Paynes and Theresa has been truly first class. Therefore, I think it is worth a mention to fellow ST owners and all blue oval owners when you know of a place that really cares about you and your car. Today I picked up my car (remaining pictures) and was really, really pleased! The car looks really good and a lot better than it did 3 weeks ago. So, if you are in the Leicester area and need some body work attended to and want an absolutely first class service then visit Paynes of Hinckley...ask for Theresa!

charged £75 to be told exactly what I told them the fault was. The hours diagnostic took four hours and I was told there might be a short to earth in the wiring. This is what I told them in the first place. No work was done, and the fault was not isolated. I was not allowed to talk to the mechanic, messages being passed between us by a receptionist. My supposed booking time was not booked and I waited nearly three hours for them to start 'looking' at my van. And there was no tea available!

I just had delivered a Ford Ranger from Paynes of Hinckley , I have to say it was the best car buying experience I've ever had. Andy and Phil were both knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a new Ford van.
