My Husband and I had had poor service from another Car company over the past six years or so. For this reason we decided to go and see what Peter Vardy had to offer. We were extremely pleased with the efficiency, courtesy and knowledgeable information we received from the Lady who dealt with us from the outset. We cannot fault her. However we were far from happy with the promise of a donation to a charity we were involved in which did not come to anything. Whilst in your Showroom your Community Champion actually came into the office we were in, signing up for our new car, in order to promise that a donation would be forthcoming following a meeting she was to have the following week. Having heard nothing from her two weeks after that promise, I wrote a followup letter to her politely asking what had happened but I have not even had the courtesy of a knock-back letter. My Husband and I believed that it would be good publicity for Peter Vardy as we intended to make a point where any donation had come from. I am left wondering if the interest and promise had merely been made to assist in securing the sale of a car. In fact it had nothing to do with our decision to purchase from Peter Vardy as we had been pleased with the sales person allotted to us and happy with the car we had chosen. I am not happy either with the telephone call I had asking if I would be prepared to give Peter Vardy a 10 out of 10 score on a questionnaire I would receive via email. In return I would receive £25 of High Street Vouchers. I intended to give these to the charity as above, but having completed that questionnaire I have received nothing. Shame on you Peter Vardy on both counts.

My experience at Peter vardy was great it would have been perfect if it were not for the last stages which I will cover. However the lead up to signing for the car was brilliant, myself and my partner felt very at ease with Tony, didn't feel pressured into anything, Tony's attitude and professionalism was top class and really gave value to Peter vardys motto of its about customer experience not selling cars. He took us through everything and made sure we understood the process and really went out of his way to give us the best chance to get our much needed new car. The bad point for us was when we came back to sign for the car, the person who took was horrendous his attitude stank. He took 45 minutes to print off the paperwork didn't talk through anything with us he kept leaving us to wander off somewhere. We were so stressed out we were literally a hairs breadths away from cancelling buying. We just wanted out of there. Cant see why someone with that attitude can work there compared to everyone elses attitude and optimism. My score would have been 5 if it were not for him and when I tell people about our experience I tell them that it was a nightmare at the end to sign for our car.

This was my second car from Peter Vardy and I am happy with the car and staff , although there were 2 disappointments. I never received a full tank of complimentary petrol (1/2 full) , I received numerous e-mails and text messages saying I could choose a mystery envelope ( Fitbit , Kindle fire, overnight stay) if I signed over the Easter weekend but when I enquired on the Thursday before Easter I was told I did not qualify , when in fact I did and could have signed on Easter Monday . These were a disappointment but will not stop me buying another car from you again , I will be more vigilant next time , that's all.

We have bought Vauxhalls from this garage since the 1970s and are always very pleased with any car we buy, including this one, bought unseen on Friday 21st April. We did however feel that this time the handover on Friday 28th April was a bit rushed - maybe because it was late afternoon, the end of a month and lack of space at the garage. (We had really wanted to wait until w/beg Monday 1st May, but were told it had to be collected before then.) The car, only 4 months old, is in very good condition, but sadly spoilt by a stale smell of smoke (from the previous owner no doubt), and when I phoned last week to ask if the garage could do something about this I was told that I would have to pay for valeting - which surprised me given that we had only just bought the car. I was promised a return call, but am still waiting. Also still waiting for key-rings, and it wasn't until we got home that I noticed there was no parcel tray (surprisingly not seen by the two salespeople who were there when we looked in the boot) - although this has since been provided.

Paul Stephens is a great salesman, very helpful and definitely goes the extra mile. The fact that he personally washed the car for me to see it is incredible. He also put £10 of petrol in it, which was very kind. However, the sales manager Glenn was quite condescending and lied. He claimed that there was a half tank of petrol in the car (which he said was worth 'at least £20'). Not only did I know that Paul put £10 worth in, when I got in the car it only had a little over a quarter of a tank. Really good experience overall, despite this - because of Paul.
