“After attending the challenge, I joined the Regulatory Medical Writing programme. The practical assignments were a learning curve. An expert picked up on a conclusion I’d written that went beyond what the data actually showed. That feedback stayed with me, because the sentence sounded convincing but wasn’t justified.”

“The job search took patience. I had rejections and an interview I knew I hadn’t handled particularly well. I’ve since accepted a medical writing role, and having examples from my training helped me talk about what I’d learnt. Excited to be taking this next step and have PharmaLink to thank for their unwavering support.”

“I’ve been a pharmacist for years, so being a beginner again has taken some getting used to. Fitting the programme around work is challenging, especially after a busy day. What I’m enjoying is having something practical to work on and seeing how my existing knowledge fits into a different area.”

“Really well put together engaging Pharma Weeekend Challenge. Refreshing to see someone in the pharmaceutical industry doing something for clinicians like myself interested in pivoting. Definitely worth considering”

“Dr Uwa orientation session gave opened door to a very hopeful possibility that I am on the right journey. Just beginning the journey but the mentorship structure of pharmalink shows that the success of the student is their priority.”

“I Was Very Sceptical I was sceptical before enrolling because there are so many training providers making huge promises about getting into pharma. One thing I appreciated about PharmaLink was that nobody promised me a job. The focus was on developing practical experience, improving how I presented myself and understanding what employers actually expect. I’ve now completed my training and started applying. I’ve had conversations with recruiters and I’m much clearer about the roles I should be targeting. I haven’t landed my role yet, but I feel far more prepared than I did before.”

“Megan Will Find It Megan’s feedback is extremely thorough. I used to open my assignments and wonder how she’d managed to find so many things I hadn’t noticed. Over time something changed. I started spotting those issues myself before submitting. I’ve now reached the point where my work comes back with noticeably fewer corrections and I’m much more deliberate about how I write. I’m still preparing for the job market, but I feel far more confident about the standard of work I can produce now.”

“I Nearly Gave Up There was a point where I genuinely thought about giving up. I convinced myself everyone else understood the assignments better than me and started questioning whether medical writing was actually right for me. One of the additional sessions changed that. Something I’d been struggling with was explained from a completely different angle and it finally clicked. I’m now several assignments further ahead and much more confident in my work. I’m glad I didn’t make a permanent decision based on one difficult week.”

“Two Interviews So Far I’ve had two interviews since completing the programme. That’s two more than I was getting before. I haven’t received an offer yet and I’m still working on improving how I interview, but my confidence is completely different. I’m also much better at explaining why my previous experience is relevant instead of spending half the interview apologising for not already working in pharma. Still applying, still learning, but I’m finally getting opportunities to actually speak to employers.”

“I Kept Collecting Qualifications I’ve been trying to get into pharma for over a year. Courses, certificates, applications, LinkedIn. I’ve done all of it. During the Pharma Career webinar Dorothy explained why collecting more qualifications isn’t necessarily going to solve the problem if employers still can’t see evidence that you understand how industry actually works. That one hit me because it was exactly what I’d been doing. Hearing current students then talk about their own journeys made it even more relatable. I left with pages of notes and a completely different perspective. I’ve actually stopped randomly applying for the moment because I need to fix the gap rather than keep doing more of what hasn’t worked.”

“Formatting Nearly Defeated Me Formatting was probably the thing I struggled with most. The additional masterclasses with Khadija and Katie were honestly a lifesaver. Things were broken down practically and eventually it started making sense. I’m now much more confident formatting my assignments independently and things that used to take me hours don’t anymore. Still not my favourite part of medical writing, but at least it no longer scares me.”

“NHS to Pharma I decided to take a risk and complete the Regulatory Medical Writing programme because I wanted to move away from the NHS. The biggest benefit for me was learning through actual regulatory documents rather than simply learning about medical writing. I’ve now successfully moved into the pharmaceutical industry. A lot of what I learned during the programme has been directly relevant in my new job and having that familiarity when I started made the transition much less intimidating.”

“I Nearly Didn’t Join I almost talked myself out of joining because it was a big investment for me. I kept thinking I could probably find everything online for free. The problem was I’d already been doing that for months and still didn’t understand how people actually did the job. I’ve now completed the live training and I’m working through the supervised part of the programme. I’m not job hunting yet, but I finally feel like I’m developing actual industry skills rather than endlessly researching how to get into pharma.”
