“Practical PV Was the Missing Piece I’d completed some PV learning before joining, so I already knew a lot of the terminology. The difference was application. Working through cases in the database made me realise there were things I could define perfectly but couldn’t necessarily apply to a real situation. I’m still completing the programme, but I can already process information much more confidently and understand why certain decisions are being made. That practical experience was the piece I was missing.”

“I would not recommend Pharmalink Academy based on my experience. The course was not delivered in the way I expected from the advertising. Over the seven weeks, the teaching mainly consisted of completing assessments with very limited one-to-one support or interaction with a tutor. The sessions were delivered via Zoom by an American instructor who did not use video for 2hrs, which made the course feel very impersonal and disconnected. It was difficult to feel engaged or supported throughout the programme. Considering the cost of the course, I do not feel it provided good value for money. I left feeling disappointed and would not recommend it to others looking for a supportive and interactive learning experience. Where it does not feel you will get a job in this field after the course.”

Thank you for your feedback. We have noticed that the same concerns have been posted across several platforms under different names, which we find concerning, as it makes it difficult for us to identify and support the person behind them. We would much rather resolve this with you directly than in public. Please contact me at dorothy@pharmalinkacademy.co.uk and I will look into your concerns personally. Dorothy.

“I finished my biochemistry degree, then spent 2 years working in customer service. Nothing wrong with the job, but I was worried I’d never use what I’d studied. I saved for the PV programme, so paying for it was a big decision. At first, I was quiet in the sessions because everyone else seemed more experienced. Eventually I booked a 1-to-1 and admitted where I was struggling. That helped much more than pretending I understood. I finished later than planned and had several unsuccessful interviews. I’ve now been offered a 12-month drug safety contract. It means leaving a permanent job, which is a little frightening, but I’m excited to finally get started in the industry. Very grateful for the support that helped me get here.”

“I joined PV after 3 years in community pharmacy. Still haven’t landed a role, but I’ve had 2 interviews after months of getting nowhere. The mock interview showed me how vague my answers were. Useful training overall, although balancing it with shifts was tough. Hoping the next interview goes better.”

“I have a medical degree but ended up working in a warehouse after I could no longer practise as a GP. With 2 girls and another on the way, starting again felt overwhelming. Dorothy told me plainly that I’d have to put in the work, but she would support me. She kept her word. I needed an extra 4 months to finish, then spent 5 months applying before landing a pharma role. The flexibility and being able to use my clinical knowledge again mean everything. I’m so thankful.”

“I’m very satisfied with my experience with PharmaLink Academy. The learning experience was well organized, and the support I received throughout the process was genuinely helpful. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt I was getting useful guidance rather than just going through the motions. Overall, it was a positive experience for me.”

“I finally landed a role with a well-known global pharmaceutical company. I’ve been there 2 months, and the flexibility has made such a difference to my life and time with my children.”

“I’m still working towards my next career move, but I understand the work much better now. My advice? Make time for it and be prepared to take feedback. You’ll need both.”

“My biggest worry was managing the programme alongside work and family. The workload was challenging, and getting corrections after spending hours on an assignment was frustrating. But understanding the feedback helped me see where I needed to improve.”

“Honestly, I thought my CV and LinkedIn were already quite good, so the feedback bruised my ego a little! I’d expected a few wording changes, but there was more to work on than I realised. PharmaLink Academy helped me see that I was listing responsibilities without really explaining what I’d contributed. Having someone still working in the industry explain the changes was really useful. I feel much more confident about what I’m sending out now.”

“I expected a quick polish of my CV, but the review was much more thorough than that. A little overwhelming at first, honestly. There were parts I’d spent ages writing that needed changing, which was frustrating, but the explanations made sense. The LinkedIn feedback was especially helpful because I hadn’t given my headline or About section much thought. Both now explain my experience and the roles I’m aiming for much more clearly. Definitely worthwhile.”

“It wasn’t quick, and it definitely wasn’t easy. But I’m so glad I didn’t stop when I wanted to. If you’re wondering whether it’s possible, it is. Just be ready to put in the work and accept support when you need it.”

“Very thorough service. I can’t say it’s landed me a job yet, but I now understand where my CV was letting me down. Some of the feedback was hard to hear because I thought I’d covered everything. Turns out, including everything doesn’t necessarily make it a strong CV! The expert helped me focus on the relevant experience and make my achievements clearer. I also feel better prepared to talk about those achievements in an interview.”

“I was worried I’d pay for another course and still not know how to do the work. The assignments at PharmaLink Academy were harder than I expected, and some feedback knocked my confidence. But working through the corrections helped things click. Being able to book a 1-to-1 to talk through what I was struggling with helped a lot too. I’m still figuring out my next step, but I have a much clearer understanding of what the role involves.”

“Taking the programme was the best decision I could have made in helping my finally get a foot into the pharmaceutical industry. A little background, I am a biomed scientist and was not accredited so was very confused as to what career I could have if any! A friend who moved from the NHS into pharma and told me about how she did it and referred me to PharmaLink. That was the beginning of my journey 9 months ago. I can’t thanks the PharmaLink experta enough for their support as it was challenging right through to the mock interviews. I’m finally working in a small biotech and couldn’t be happier.”

“I had prior experience in industry within quality assurance but have been looking to move into PV for sometime years but wasn’t sure how to go about it. I attended the live webinar for PV and was really impressed with Dorothy’s presentation and experience in indiatrh and how to position yourself. Decided to use the CV review service and had my consultation with the expert, I’m must say they have a great knack for pulling out your skillsets you don’t think are relevant or matter and positioning in a specific way to have recruiters take an interest. I’m grateful for this as we don’t have many professionals in this industry helping others.”

“Studying around work and the children took planning. There were assignments I needed to revisit and applications that went nowhere. The experts’ feedback helped me get more comfortable explaining my decisions, and the interview practice showed me that I was underselling my nursing experience.”

“I joined the PV programme after spending a long time wondering whether I was too established in nursing to change direction. I was tired of the shifts, but I also worried about giving up being experienced at something to become the new person again.”

“After attending the challenge, I joined the Regulatory Medical Writing programme. The practical assignments were a learning curve. An expert picked up on a conclusion I’d written that went beyond what the data actually showed. That feedback stayed with me, because the sentence sounded convincing but wasn’t justified.”
