I called out a plumber via plumbers4u. Initial experience with booking was great - a plumber was booked to fix an intermittent leak under the boiler the same day. Cost was higher than I was expecting at over £100 but for the quick service I was willing to pay. The plumber spent about 5mins trying to look at where the leak could be coming from. He suspected it was from a plastic pipe and said it should be replaced. He didn't have the right pipe and so taped up the pipe and said he can come another time to replace the pipe. As he had only been at the house for a short period, I asked if he could look at removing the cylinder in a Vado concealed tap so that it could be cleaned. He attempted to remove but was unable to do this and used some WD40 to loosen the tap a little. The chrome on the tap has been damaged and the shower has developed a leak. About a month later, I contacted Plumbers4u to let them know that the water that was still leaking and I wanted to arrange for the pipe to be changed. I was told that I'd need to pay for the plumber to come out again as the plumber had fixed the tap as well. I've had multiple exchanges with plumbers4u customer support for them to send out a plumber without being charged for the £100 call out fee as the issues have not been fixed and the pipe has been taped up. I would be happy to pay for the replacement pipe but they refuse to do so. Not happy with the service and won't use plumbers4u again.

Absolute joke of a company who are not interested in anything but making quick, easy money. I called on Tuesday explaining that we're a family with two very small children (2yrs and 4 months) with a blocked toilet & drain preventing us from using our only bathroom. The initial interaction couldn't have been better, but all went downhill very quickly from there. The Plumber attended and poured 2x bottles of acid in the toilet. He left 20 minutes later with instructions for us to call at 6pm if it was still blocked. When we called, we were told he couldn't do anything as he had no more acid and would come back at 10-11am the next day. He actually arrived at 4pm the next day, not 10am as promised, poured another bottle of acid down the toilet and walked out 5 minutes later leaving one more bottle of acid with my partner for us to use ourselves an hour later. This did not solve the issue. Day 3, a lovely guy named Junior (a drainage engineer) attended and he genuinely couldn't have done more if he tried (it's just a shame you work for a terrible company if you ever read this, Junior). But he explained that the issue was in the stack pipe which needed cutting open and emptying. He reported this back to dispatch to get the correct person, tools and equipment on site which he did not have on his van. Day 4, I chased at 3pm as I had still not heard anything, to be told that the engineer was booked 2-5pm. The engineer then called at 4:30pm saying he wouldn't be on site until 7pm! When I queried about the noise of cutting a stack pipe with our 2 small children at that time, he told me he was only expecting to plunge a toilet and wasn't given any details of the job from dispatch besides that and he didn't have the correct equipment either. About the only decent thing Plumbers 4 U did was not argue with me when I asked for a refund. That said, I am still out pocket for the 2 bottles of acid that the plumber demanded personal payment from my partner for, and refused to leave the flat until he was paid. Don't get tempted in by the competitive rates they promise, it absolutely isn't worth it.

The plumber I booked did not turn up within the five hour window (and had not appeared 90 minutes afterwards). There was no contact from the call centre (who I called several times) or the technician.

Called them for emergency service to fix a water leak for my partner in Staines upon Thames. Was told a 2 hour window. 18 hours later and after multiple calls where I was told every time the plumber would call with an ETA. Still nothing. Abysmal service, when I could have been looking for a reliable company. Not recommended.

I was very disappointed by the plumbing service. My plumber did not turn up and I had to keep chasing the company. After his visit, the plumber needed to return as he set the cold setting of my electric shower onto the hot setting. A month later I am still awaiting his visit, the cuctumer service is slow to respond and does not solve issues. Overall: do not use.

I am sorry to say that my encounter with your engineer was most unfortunate, apart from misinforming me about what was needed, he was disloyal to your company.

Put through to a plumber who came to fix our toilet but a week later it broke. Called him and he said that he only put a temporary fix and that we can fix it ourselves. Paid too much money for such a bad job like that

The service provided was friendly and the engineer arrived within a few hours. He did temporarily fix the pressure on the boiler, but when it stopped working again, the provider told me that I would be charged another £118 for a call-out because ‘the problem had been solved when he left the house’. So I basically paid £118 for nothing. It’s not on, frankly.

The plumber damaged my toilet lid, he took my toilet seat and fittings with him, with a promise to replace. I am yet to receive the replacement toilet seat nor my property taken away by the plumber. i have sent two emails to customer care but received no response

Took 3.5 hours to attend the property then charged me £180 for 10 minutes using a plunger only to recommend I call Dyno-rod.

The plumber came and charged £180. He diagnosed a leak but didn't repair it. We still have the problem. Please do not recommend this company.

up-front service - booking appointment for a standard boiler service - was excellent. i booked morning visit and agreed 10-12. on the day i rang at 11.50 to ask about timing and was told 20 minutes. after an hour i rang again and was told engineer would ring me shortly and be with me soon. at 2pm engineer rang to ask me the address!! he arrived 5 minutes later and did not apologise for being late. his first statement was i needed a new boiler and shouldnt waste money on a service. cost would be £5000. i rejected and service took 25 minutes. attitude was arrogant and rude. having agreed fee of £100 i was told to pay £118. i would not use again.

Avoid at all cost! They charged me £144 for 5 mins visit and say it can't be fixed unless I'm paying extra thousand pounds. Quoted from another company and get it sorted with just a fraction of their quotation price on the same day. At the end, I still have to pay for 5 mins visit for which half of the time was I made the payment.

I am writing to you regarding a plumber you guys despatched to me on Monday 06/12/21, named Joya.   He came to my house, inspected the boiler and stated he fixed it through cleaning the tubes.   However, while fixing and inspecting the boiler, he asked me how to fix the pressure as he didn’t know how to. At this point I got very weary of his ability and confidence of fixing my boiler.   Today, the boiler started making the same noises as before Joya came. Clearly the £180 I paid was not spent for the fixing of my boiler, rather it was for his incapability of being a plumber.   I am without heating and without hot water, at a time I am having to work from home and my boyfriend is very busy at work, therefore going in everyday… and having to have cold showers, and living in a house as cold as Antarctica.   I called Joya today and he was the opposite of helpful or empathetic to the situation, claiming we would need to book an appointment to him to come over when it fits his schedule. I do not appreciate his attitude, especially as I had previously paid him to fix the same issues as what is happening today.   I hope to receive a refund of £180 as it is obvious that he was incapable of fixing it and I do not require his services no longer. I am doing you a favour by just asking for my refund, rather than compensation or writing very negative public reviews of your services and his.
