“I'm quite surprised at the poor customer service provided by Portmeirion Group. My order took weeks to arrive, and then it was damaged. The representative told me to mail back the items AT MY EXPENSE, and they would do the me the favor of a refund, citing that a sales item is otherwise not refundable.
So, if you receive a damaged item and want to return it, shipping and time to do the same is the customer's $$. Whatsmore, they asked me to ship it back in the original box, which is large and costs nearly as much as the item itself.
Spode my be considered high end, but the customer service is worse than Walmart's.”
“We ordered cereal bowls from the website. My husband saw a few additional pieces (egg plate, pie thing that we thought was for baking pies, chip bowl) and bought them as well. Upon arriving and opening the boxes we see the items are made in China. The bowls are made in England like out other pieces. I contacted the company to let them know we do not want dishes made in China and that this should be clearly stated on the website.
They refused to pay shipping to send the dishes back. I believe it is there responsibility because the items were not as described. I would have NEVER purchased dishes made in China.”
“Horrible service. I placed an order on 12/5/2020 (for Christmas gifts)its now 12/18/20 and it still has not shipped. I called customer service on 12/15/20 asking about it. I was told it ships whithin 3-4 business days. When I pointed out it had been 10 days since I ordered the representative then said, well due to COVID things have slowed down. Today I receieved an email from Bill Rodedee (president of Portmeiron Group) this is an email you cannot respond too, that said due to a snow storm (on 12/17)the warehouse is closed. What will the next excuse be? How about you refund my money if you are not going to fulfill orders in a reasonable amount of time. I am extremely disappointed in Portmeiron Group. I will be canceling my order. I will not order from them again.”
