Went to Poundstretcher today to get toilet rolls some were £15 a pack with 50% off if spend over £5.00 ( £7.50 ). Used to go and get 2 packs under £7.50 . Big Signs on shelves 50% off spend over £5 but large price on shelf is with the 50% off. Sorry to say last visit. Cheaper in main supermarkets. Very misleading.

They are banking on their target market not being able to work out that an item marked up to just over double its original price then cut in half equals a higher price than before. It's surely unethical to treat people like they are idiots.

You need to strat reading the reviews . Your 50% sale is a joke. You have put all your prices up to compensate for the sale. I'll start going to B&M. Another losted customer.

Beware of this company. Went into the Dover, Kent, one today and bought a twin pack of Mr Kipling sticky toffee puddings which were well over three months past their BB date. No mention of this company selling out of date stock anywhere. So what you need to ask yourself is....is it company policy or is it a local problem. Lots of past BB dates are okay to eat, but you must state they are out of date surely, if by this much.

It’s not 50% off if you’ve put the prices up more than 50% prior to the sale. Scumbags.

The 50%off is very misleading and really is a bad mistake made by poundstretcher! I will not be returning and I'm sure Im not the only one.

What a joke. All the prices were inflated before the 50% off sale started. Home Bargains, B&M and other stores are actually cheaper and are not deceiving their customers. They are now announcing in store that the 50% off only applies to purchases over £5 yet the 50% off signs are plastered all over the outside of the store and in the windows. Another lie!!!

We have had a HORRENDOUS experience with poundstretcher and we still don't know if our dog will be fine. I bought three bags of dog snacks late last week because they had a warehouse sale. Our dog has had her usual dry food and then some of these snacks. As a result, she has become violently ill, she's had to go to the vet Monday late night because she was so ill we couldn't wait any longer. The doctor suspected food poisoning. I've called the shop in Bramley, Leeds where I bought them, but the keyholder there was absolutely horrible and started to question how I knew it was their food, and she questioned out of date of one of their own products( that should give you confidence!). I told her my dog hadn't gone anywhere and only had had her usual lily's kitchen dry food and these treats, so I knew it had to be the treats. I told her that I was going to call the headoffice to complain about this experience and her reaction, and when I tried to call the head office, I couldn't even speak to customer services, and you can now only e mail. I called again and choose a different menu and managed to speak to someone. This helpful person send an e mail for them to call me, but I've not hear anything. I've kept the receipt and stinking chicken feet, buffalo ears and one more that reeked absolutely horrendous , but I don't even think they will given my money back ( let alone the £100 vet bill!), because the phone call to the local shop was not dealt with appropriately, so I have no illusions there. We are now 2 days further and she's still so ill. We've had to wash her because she had walked through her own diarrhoea and had been throwing up the whole Monday which had also been on parts of her own body that we couldn't clean yet because she was so ill). This has caused her distress on top of her feeling miserable and we couldn't get her warm until she was dry. Thankfully she's not vomiting anymore because the vet has given her an injection against vomiting, but she still has a lot of diarrhoea. I feel disgusted about the way I was treated when I told her my dog was violently ill. I will only set foot in a poundstretcher one more time to try and get my money back for these treats, and then they will never see me there ever again. This has cost our dog to be very ill ( we don't know how long this will go on for as she's still ill two days later, and it has cost us also almost £100). I just want to share this experience with others about an attitude of a poundstretcher representative member from their staff team who showed no empathy or willingness to believe a client, and try to find a solution. At the end of the day, what do I gain by accusing them if I wasn't convinced it was their treats that have made my pet so ill?!

Very bad customer service and quite unimpressed with how I was served at the till. I will never go in there again they don't deserve my money. No wonder the store is virtually empty. Other people are probably shopping in a proper store. This was at Marsh Road, Luton store.

I will never use pound stretcher again.i purchased a wall clock from Bexleyheath store and it stopped working in a week.when we returned it they refused to take it back as they needed bill even thought their policy says paid card details is enough if we lost the bill.I was so angry when the lady at the till said you might have brought it from some other shop and so they need the bill.I am happy that it was my first shopping in that shop and I did not spent a lot there. I will never go there again.there are plenty of shops around here with good customer service.

Definitely will not use this company again. Received a parking fine for being 6 minutes over the allocated time. I continue to be harrassed by the debt recovery agency they use. My philosophy is, if you do not like their policies, do not use them! So well done Pound Stretcher, you've been added to my and my circles black list!

I frequent poundstretcher Raw dykes road Leics frquently, I have a blue badge but can never use the disabled bays, I noticed the same car is always parked in the same blue badge bay, I came to the conclusion it must be an employee When going thro the till i asked the cashier who the car belonged to, I was shocked by his answer that the car belonged to the store manager and that was his parking space If he had a blue badge, i would be ok with that I have sent an email to Aziz Tayub regarding this with details of the car, I wonder if i will get a reply Alastair

Poundstretcher ripping off customers by selling items with a price marked on packaging - and then charged a different price at tills, 50% more!! This has happened a number of times and is illegal! Make sure you check your till receipt as even when they were told about it, staff just shrugged and said 'its down to head office!'. ......and carried on overcharging the following week.
