Communication was poor and lecturers seemed half arsed to teach let alone email back etc

Overall my six week experience has been good but not great. Majority of the course has been at home learning through the online portal and there has been little or no guidance from our tutors. When we have been based in the classroom our tutors have been good and informative but there was never any anatomy and physiology lessons which was an important section of the course. Majority of us failed our level 3 exam in this subject as there was so much we didn't understand. When we emailed tutors they sent back YouTube links (which is helpful but not the same as being taught by a tutor face to face) or many tutors just did not reply to emails.

There should be an option between 'poor' and 'acceptable' but I opted for 'poor' because I have overall been pretty disappointed with this course for many reasons. I don't like to complain and I know that I will be happy once I have my qualification but I feel that for the amount of money spent on this course, the first-hand service and educational environment is very poor. Firstly the classroom is horrible. Small and cramped, no windows and sitting down for hours. Carpets are disgusting, filthy and need replacing all the way down the hall and on the classroom floor. Not a pleasant environment to learn in. Secondly having to use the public gym for our assessments and some lessons, where it can be a struggle to use the equipment without getting in the way of the gym users, difficult to hear what the tutor is saying over all the loud music and busy gym noises... And then being told by the tutor that we have to prioritise the gym users over ourselves when we have paid over two grand for this course? How is that justified? Secondly and not discrediting the tutor's knowledge and experience which I do respect overall, I found some of the information within the course and that told to us within the classroom setting to be biased and arguably incorrect in its nature. This was not what I expected from a highly respected (and expensive) educational service designed to educate and support the general public. Disappointing. There is also not enough support or for those who have learning difficulties etc. I myself have Aspergers and ADHD and no extra support was offered when I made them aware of this and suggested a few small things that would specifically aid the learning process. No attempts were made to enquire or understand further what might help which made me sad as only a few very simple things could have made ALL the difference. As a result, I felt isolated and highly anxious for most of the course. I feel this really needs to change. May I suggest that the tutors are taught a little bit about disabilities and learning difficulties such as Autism or Aspergers? Just a few pointers of understanding could make a huge difference to people like me who have a passion for health and fitness but learn better with a few slight adjustments. Luckily I am an older student and I'm fairly resilient as well as much life experience under my belt to not let it get to me so much as to quit but I wonder if this would be the same for someone with the same diagnosis who was not so? Other reasons: Somewhat lacklustre teaching (seems like the tutor doesn't want to be there at times and appears to have 'favourites' in the classroom) teaching resources badly put together and somewhat confusing as a result. Terrible cafeteria service. Generally uncomfortable and unwelcoming energy about the venue. Other students talking consistently to each other in lessons, laughing and joking in the middle of the lesson when the tutor is speaking (very annoying when other students cannot hear what is being said) tutor says nothing to stop them. During assessments, tutor talks constantly to other students about their program and does not once come over to see how I and my training partner are doing with the set program. How are we being assessed if no one is watching us, checking technique etc? Also, during one particular lesson the tutor pronounced a word wrongly and when I mentioned this I was told I was wrong. He said the word 'Peripheral' was pronounced 'Peripeal' (of which there is no such word ). And he then said that I was wrong for suggesting that it was the same word used when describing 'Peripheral vision' as when used to describe 'Peripheral nervous system'. (Look it up, it's the same word) He then started making a joke about it in front of the class which made me feel horrible, as though I was being fussy and silly for mentioning it. This made me feel upset and sad, as well as quite cross. An educational setting should not be like this. As I mentioned above I do not like to criticise or complain, but I genuinely am quite upset by some of these experiences within the course and I hope that my comments will be taken seriously. As a positive, I thought the Kettlebell classes were great and I really enjoyed learning about human anatomy and nutrition and how to apply this knowledge to training others as well as practical ways to help postural problems. The online chat service is useful.

I felt the training did not at all prepare me for the PT world and not enough skills were learnt for example simple plyometric or calisthenic training which every gym is now doing, failed to be taught in detail at premier. Not to mention getting a diploma and graduating from the obesity and diabetes management course did nothing to get a good job in this field. I felt wrongly advised that this would be a great choice of education and an "emerging sought after" employment field! That was totally the opposite. There is no investments from the government at this current state and I had no voice but to return to the office field and write off this experience as a complete waste of money. Another point I wish to raise is the total rip off for the fees. I paid full price for all 3 states that I took where other class mates got 30-50% off because they joined at a later stage that year. Louise Skinner, another person in my class even had the obesity course for free. Would not recommend this to anyone!

I found the course very helpful, d i enjoyed the experience very much. The Tutors Alex and Pete in Manchester were great. They were very patient, professional and friendly. The knowledge they shared throughout the course was very much respected and very beneficial. Very happy i chose the correct company to study with.

I completed the Level 2 Fitness Instructor & Level 3 Personal Trainer combined diploma course & thoroughly enjoyed my time with Premier. It was challenging & at times tough but that's what made it so beneficial in how much you were taught over the months of the course. I feel like I have learnt so much I never even knew & not only has it helped immensely with my own training & nutrition but I now feel confident & able to impart that knowledge on to others & since completing the course I have successfully gained employment with Pure Gym.

The combined Level 2 & 3 course has been a real joy - it's intense & a lot to take in but I'm loving every minute & I've learnt so much about fitness & all the components around it for both my own training & for my future career. I can't wait to take it to the next level as well.

Hi Slawomir, thank you very much for your feedback, so glad to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your experience on course with us. All the best from the team here at Premier!

2 out of 3 of my tutors were excellent. (Gregg and Craig). The course layout was very poor and the 'online help with jobs' is an absolute joke. I'm still in touch with everyone from my course and we all agree that once you leave premier and compete the course they couldn't care less about us. The way the practical exams were marked was pathetic as the tutors that marked us didn't even look at us for 95% of the 'exam' and they were not even in the same room. Some people in my class had terrible form attempting squats bending knees inwards and still passed. The way I see it is they will pass anyone in the practicals - capable or not. The lack of proper tuition is an utter piss take for the money I paid as I could have got the same qualification for £2000 cheaper!!! I feel as if I have been massively mugged off for money and regret doing the course with premier 100%. As I said, 2 of my teachers - Gregg issacs(Not sure if that's spelt correctly) and Craig salmon, were brilliant in helping us even staying behind after lessons to help and were great fun in general. It's a shame how the course turned out as I met some very nice people during my time there. -Charlie

I booked myself on the course for level 3 and due to a serious neck injury i was unable to go ahead with the course in the end. I had paid my deposit and made two finance payments while I was awaiting a decision back from the company whether or not i would get a refund after providing documentation of my injury to be taken off the course. I dealt with Ally throughout the whole process which took 5 weeks from passing over documentation to getting a answer. I have to say Ally provided excellent customer service throughout, very friendly, well mannered while still acting highly processional for the voice of Premier Global. I was kept informed with everything going on that side and if anything was to be done my side i was contacted immediately and informed of what was to be done so it was sorted out with minimal fuss and in the quickest timescale that was possible., Ally thank you very much, as i said on the phone i am very grateful for everything you did for me. I want to say to due to unfortunate circumstances my life is on hold for the time being till i can get sorted out without making myself worse off and possible causing lifelong injuries. Premier Global thank you for understanding with minimal fuss and questions and when i am fully fit i will be back in touch. Tom

I am very pleased that I have trained with Premier, the support I have received from Educational Advisor's as well as from the tutors has been worth its weight in gold. With the last question that I struggled with, it really would have helped if during the course we were given an example of this. It was given to us the week prior to our final exam and practical assessment without any guidance at all, if you have never done Sales or Business previously guidance would have helped. I am looking forward to continuing my education with Premier and would recommend them to anyone going or thinking of going into this fitness industry.

I have just commenced on a part time course to obtain my REPS level 2 certificate. So far the course has been very well structured and the trainers are excellent. This is the first time i have ventured back into a learning environment for 20 +years so it was a shock to the system when the first weekend commenced. The team were incredibly patient and knowledgeable and made the first weekend a more relaxing and friendly environment. I am really looking forward to the next stages of the course and hopefully at some point further my knowledge with a REPS level 3 certificate. I would recommend Premier to anyone who is looking at enhancing there career or knowledge within the fitness industry or who simply like me wants to learn more about the mechanics of the human body and how to improve other peoples health and well being.

The course was very well constructed in style and format, The instructor was direct and managed the class well and came across as very informative. I would have liked it if he had gone into more details on how to put a class together- there is a section on it in the manual but i would have liked to run through a few examples on the best exercises to do for beginners through to advanced levels But overall i would recommend this course to anyone that asks

My visit to an open day at Premier training international (Cambridge) was a very spontaneous thing.. I had no money and never spent what I didn't have, but was very sporty and interested in health and fitness so went along to see what it was about.. After the open day, I was interested, but admittedly it seemed expensive,. I saw other courses on offer for less cost but I instantly got some credit and deposited myself onto the course. I was committed. The course was absolutely fantastic, Mike, my tutor was brilliant. I must thank Darren also from the open day who made it possible. 10 years on after passing the course with high marks and full confidence, I registered for self employment the next day. Over the course of the next 6 months I slowed down on my day job, had a part time job in my local gym and was personal training clients, best still getting paid to help people change their lives! It was brilliant, and after 6 months I had my very own full time business. With regards to the course sounding expensive... No way! It is very good value for money! I have worked with and trained other fitness 'professionals' with other level 3 qualifications and they do not cover half of what premier did. The course is very in depth, the trainers know their stuff and can easily get it across in way that's easy to take in. Anyone thinking about becoming a personal trainer, do not go anywhere other than Premier Training!
