“Same as the incident below.
Theft at a Pret in London.
Thief wearing a staff lanyard.
Pretending to clear the table and steal your things, no support from Pret following the incident.”
“BE WARNED- extreme care needed if you go to Pret a manager.
we were in London for weekend. visited Pret branch at 7 Marylebone lane.
we were targeted and robbed in broad daylight 14.20pm whilst sitting at a table at the back of the restaurant. van waiting outside with door open to collect thief.
staff advised afterwards this is a regular occurrence. obviously targeted and tipped off.
tried contacting Pret customer service. lip service via their staff for 3 days. no apology. zero assistance. eventually i was asked if I reported the crime- which I affirmed- whereupon I was advised by phoebe that this was no longer Prets problem and there was nothing more they can do.”
“Happened in pret in Chiwsick high street at 5.30, asked for a filter coffe, the gay in the till told me that they didn’t have and left the till without giving another option or any chance to asked for something else.”
“I experienced a deeply distressing incident at a shop that left me feeling incredibly unsafe and unsettled. What unfolded before my eyes was one colossal event that shook me to my core. The presence of homeless individuals was a common sight, with some even approaching customers to ask for spare change. As this happened, I couldn't help but notice how everyone's gaze shifted downward, filled with a mix of embarrassment and discomfort. However, my feelings went far beyond that; fear gripped me tightly. I couldn't shake the thought that this person might single me out or pose a threat.
To exacerbate matters, I found myself in the midst of a heated argument between customers. What shocked me even more was that some of the staff members, instead of mediating or finding a solution, actively engaged in the quarrel. Their involvement, rather than alleviating the tension, only fueled my anger. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming desire to express my frustration to the world, to let everyone know just how infuriated I was.”
“In light of the recent customer deaths and news reports including a Sunday Mirror undercover investigation, I will not only boycott, but avoid Pret. It doesn't seem what it is on the outside. It is better to return and support small businesses.”
