“rightmove are very helpful in finding your dream home”

“I find the website very useful, but there are a few things that would be helpful. A floorplan for every house. Some agents only put one or two pictures on the site. This always says to me that there is something to hide, although from experience this is not always the case. The street maps are good, The satellite maps are interesting, but an OS map showing the contours would be very useful. Not everyone has access to a car and the elderly or mums with a buggy do not want a property on a steep hill. This could only be discovered when going to view, and would be a no no even before entering the property.”

“I have 2 points to suggest: 1) You may want to look into developing another site that allows individuals to advertise their properties other than estate agents 2) You may want to oblige estate agents to inform the viewer if the property is a leasehold or not + how many years left + maintenance fees for building where applicable. Many estate agents I've noticed rush to upload an add when they do not have all the basic information. It be great if the site would force the 'vendor' to include basic information so as to avoid the viewer waste their time phoning-up and waiting.”

“I like the way you can select an area and find all the property available within that area even drawing a line round specific locations. You are then given a selection of property which match your criteria. I like that properties have pictures so that you can 'look' round without bothering the vendor or the agent. I like that you can virtually walk up and down the street and look at the area as a whole. I like that the agent's details are available and that you can contact them through the website. It takes a lot of leg work out of the property search and helps narrow down the choice available. Also you do not approach the market with higher expectations of what your money will buy. I believe it is the best way to start your property search.”
