“DO NOT BUY A ROCKDOOR... Your old door will be less trouble!! I always read reviews, but very rarely leave them. But I feel I need to leave a review on Rockdoor. If you take notice of any reviews, please read all of these about Rockdoor and do not buy at Rockdoor at any costs. Firstly, yes these doors are solid and they look great, but the quality is so poor. Based on my experience, I believe there is an inherent fault with these doors which is down to the sun. We have 2 Rockdoors which were both installed November 2018. We always use the side door and rarely use the front door at all The front door warped and bubbled during summer 2019, which was replaced. Number 2 then bubbled and the skin and window separated, leaving a gap around the window of around 5mm. This was summer 2020 and within 12 months. Number 3 was fitted and we are now in the summer of 2021. This door has bubbled and the skin/window seperated in exactly the same place as the last door Incidentally, our front door is in full direct sun from lunchtime and is hot to touch in the summer. So far I have had 3 summers with a Rockdoor fitted. I have also had bubbling on 3 doors during the summer. I am convinced it is the sun The side door which is in constant use has no sun. We have no issues with this door Please see attached photos of the second and third doors. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the first”

“I worked for GAP and I can confirm that these doors have serious issues with warping drafts and other defects, the reviews on Trust pilot are not worth the ratings, most of the good reviews are from people who have only 1 Review, the ones that give poor reviews have an average of 3 or more reviews these are the genuine reviews, I have on record an email from the one of the owners admitting they had issues with the Rockdoors, yet they where still selling them knowing they where faulty goods, under the trades description acts this is a breach of contract”

“At a previous address, I had a fantastic Rockdoor. As soon as we moved home I knew I wanted to replace both doors at my property with Rockdoors because I had been so impressed with them for everything they state on the website etc. Same I won’t be recommending them like I have done previously. This experience has been horrendous and a never ending nightmare. I will never do again and this is still unsolved. I feel robbed of good money, b&q could have supplied a better door for a fraction of the cost disappointed beyond belief! I placed the order in February lockdown obviously understand delayed production and installation. The issues are endless: 1.The installer Rockdoor installer turns up from 20 miles away to find he didn’t check the order and had 1 of the 2 wrong doors. 2.Fits the second door and puts a chainsaw through my internal wall TWICE AND DOES NOT EVEN MENTION IT, HE LEAVES I SPOT IT AS I CLOSE THE DOOR ! I have to call him back immediately. 3. I Inspect the door closer on the same day (fitting day) to find it is pitting and it looks like the door covering is defected. This was also discussed immediately and the installer could only report it back to Rockdoor and raise a complaint. We insisted on a replacement....this is still on-going it is now nearly September 6 months from installation of this door alone! 4. The same door does not lock easily, still waiting for it be resolved. 5. The door(s) we had on order and we have paid for (proof on order )should have been key liked, We DID NOT GET THESE ON EITHER DOOR AND WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THIS TO BE SORTED ! 6. The front door finally arrives and gets fitted in July, 5 months from order this has now pitted and swollen. So TWO SEPARATE DOORS DEFECTED AND STILL NOT REPLACED DESPITE PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE BEING SUPPLIED. 8.Due to poor communication and response from the installer had to try and track down a contact ct for Rockdoor, note they give you a 10 year guarantee but no way of easily contacting them.(useless in other words) 7. Eventually got to Contact Rockdoor by email and telephone, done this numerous times but not had returned telephone calls or email back resolving any of this atrocious catalogue of problems! So we have parted with £2900.00 to get two defective POOR quality doors that do not lock properly and left with two holes in my wall that were not there before for that price! Appalling!! 1 star is too generous for this review.”

“Massively regret getting a rock door. 6 months after it was first installed I was on my 4th door due to the warping and bending in the heat, and i had lost my patients with this terrible company. Dont be fooled by there nice relpys on here as the service I got was far from nice. They knew their doors were rubbish and when their regional manager was here he didnt have any answers for me and knew the doors were rubbish as he was mostly speechless. When they got fed up with dealing with me they sent one of their approved installers around to fit my 4th door. he did a rubbish job and also made loads of claims that the door and frame wasnt fitted properly in the first place, and the company said they were no longer going to honor my warranty unless I pay more money for a new frame. I couldn't be bothered with them any more and just gave up. It was stressful and exhausting dealing with them. Today I noticed the door has bubbled in the heat and is failing once again. I dont want anything to do with this company, I will not waste my time speaking to them if they reply. But if your thinking of getting a rock door j really wouldn't. Learn from my mistake and choose a different company and ask about their warranty and service for faulty doors.”

“Well on reading other people complaining about rockdoor and having exactly the same problems how do they get away with it I am going to report them to the TV programme which let's all do it shouldn't be allowed to still manufacture these rubbish doors”

“I bought a Rockdoor from the Maidstone branch of Gap the sister company of Rockdoor, the service from Jane was good, until I complained about the door blistering and won't shut where its buckled, the response was shocking, I paid over a £1000. for this horrible product from a mickey mouse company, if you are reading this review use Rocall or another composite door company, far cheaper and better quality all round fact. just check out there responses to reviews on trust pilot, SHOCKING COMPANY WITH RUDE STAFF”

“I bought my Rockdoor Door, from a third party company. The company went bust a few months after I got it and have been plagued with problems since. My door won't close properly now and they won't support their product, even though it is a new door. So beware of this company.”

“Just had a replacement door fitted as my old one had bowed and it was impossible to open and close. My new replacement door is so draughty that my hall way is like a wind tunnel. Please avoid at all costs. It is so not worth the £1,100 I paid for it”

“I so wish i never purchased the rockdoor and unfortunately for me i used a fitter which is family. The door lets cold. My hall is freezing and door is very hard to lock. The quality is poor also and easily chips and plastic at the bottom of the door has broken. Avoid at all cost”

“AVOID ROCKDOOR! I have had two black front doors from RockDoor through GX Home Improvements in Chalfont (including a replacement slab). Both have developed a serious issue, where a panel has expanded in the sun, and 'popped' to create a very large and unsightly 'bubble in the middle of the door'. GX want to charge me to fit a another replacement slab. Rock Door have shown absolutely no interest. I spoke to their Customer Services Manager Joanne who failed to understand the needs of her end customers. No support. No interest in their faulty product lines. GX no longer stock RockDoor, presumably because mine is not an isolated case.”

“My rock door was hard to open when I looked close it is bowed putting pressure on the keep GAP tell me it’s within tolerance ie a 4mm deflection and they won’t help me There advert says the Rock door won’t warp haha my wife cannot open this door and has to use the back door do not buy these inferior products”

“I am on my 4th Rockdoor! Do not buy anything from this brand. Warping, unable to lock properly and on the latest door a 3 inch by 2 inch bubble. Customer service is non existent. They put a layer of kevlar in the first doors and it expands in sunlight! They promised that they had changed the composition of the later doors, they lied! Why they carried on selling the doors when they knew there were serious issues , is beyond me!!”

“I bought a double door had on going issue from day one , Same as lots of other people.. First the colour black is not black Wind whistling through Bubbles in the door appear in many places Joints cracked in several places now the lock won’t open spent over £2000 for what was supposed to be the best door in the market Rockdoor are always looking to blame and put the faults down to something else Not good when they manufactured it Hopefully they read this review along with the others below and take some responsibility for there product,, I look forward to a positive reply as now we’re using the back door to get in and out the house As a after care service it’s poor as they wouldn’t even send someone out to look at it ,,”

“So disappointed with my Rockdoor. So very disappointed with my rockdoor . I had trouble with it soon as it was fitted. It was not locking right and then when it lock it was hard to open ever harder when u are disabled. The fitter returned moving the door frame .you could tell the key was bending trying to unlock the door.which I then had problems with the draft coming through. The stairs and hall way was like being outside. I contacted the fitter who went in to liquidation opened in new name started up again .I contacted rockdoor who say the door warranty is with the fitter because they have gone in liquidation the contract is ended . I notice 2018 doors there was a problem with the doors that bow .2019 on there web site says rockdoor new guarantees not to bow as of June 2019.it says we are please to report that the issue of bowing has been eliminate with 0%return rate achieved in the past 12 months .both internal tests prior to launch in our dedicated environment similar and close monitoring over 30.000 newly installed doors in circulation confirm this. We will continue to test all our doors to ensure door bowing remains firmly rooted in the past . My door is a 2018 door .They were a rockdoor fitters. Iam now stuck with a useless door witch I regret having .you would think knowing they new there were problems with doors that bow in 2018 the customer service would be able to help. All ive been told to ring gap.which i did with no help what so ever to resolve this matter. my door is badly bowed as we found out when another rockdoor fitter put a level on it . DONT TOUCH ROCKDOOR .”
