“I am someone who is interested in the concept of “buy it for life” products - pieces that you can buy once and use forever, maintain and repair, and eventually pass along to someone else. This is an idea that feels more and more rare in a world of planned obsolescence and fast fashion. But not here. Here, I found beautiful and unique silk clothing that is made to last a lifetime (even as my body keeps changing size and shape!). It took me a little time to choose a silk piece because every single one is unique. But that extra time seemed appropriate. This REALLY is not fast fashion. Each piece of silk has been hand chosen from beautiful vintage saris, and designed, crafted, sewn - not to mention, individually photographed and listed on the site. It’s a completely different way to shop than what I am used to. But it’s absolutely worth taking the time to engage with the process. I loved looking through the various silks online, watching the videos, and looking for that very first piece that felt truly special to me. I highly recommend reaching out to the team. They are amazing at explaining and demonstrating how you can wear the different pieces (in person or over a video call), and they are great at helping you choose the styles and colours that will work well for you. There is no cost for this, and no pressure to buy anything - truly. They genuinely love taking this time with you. Every style can also be worn multiple ways. Even if you think you have a favourite style or a usual way of dressing, you will soon find yourself playing dress-up like when you were a kid. You’ll be draping your new silk over yourself in all kinds of different ways, just for fun. And the silks are absolutely beautiful. They look even better in person than I was expecting from the photos. It always feels good to support a small business over a big corporation when you can. But this one is truly special. This is a small business with an enormous heart. Their genuine care can be felt in every part of what they do - from the beautiful, heirloom quality silk clothing, to to the genuine joy they bring to their customer interactions (book a consultation or find them on social media and you will see what I mean), to the communities they create and support all around the world. They genuinely care about people over profits.”

“Went to sariKNOTsari to order my spring casbahs Estero & Mist and with the help of Priya, the owner, and Shefali managed to score beautiful tops that I can wear with both pair of pants, Even managed to pick up a few Zsiska pieces. Priya and her staff are always so welcoming and helpful, I could not ask for better. Always love a drive down to James St.N. so I can bring some very special items home.”

“Very lovely products, and well made. I love the recycled aspect of the silk pieces, and appreciate that they are all made individually, and no two are alike. The store has a really warm and inviting environment, and the staff is really helpful and friendly making you feel welcome and at home as you shop. I like that it is a small independant CANADIAN business that showcases unique clothing for women.”

“Take my breath away. The fabric is divine; I couldn't believe the two items fit into such a small parcel. The shrug is going to make me feel like a star whenever I wear it, whether anyone notices or not. The top fits so well, amazing for a 2 purpose garment. I love the repurposed saris and wish more clothing manufacturers were more thoughtful about their crappy, single-use plastic clothing. Thank you, girls. Let me know about summer sales as we go into winter in our hemisphere.”

“If you're not familiar with the store and you're unsure whether this is a fit for you....GET DOWN THERE! Set up an appointment with the girls (or not) but recommended....you will have a blast 💥 of fun while deciding if it's a fit for you. But at this store, everything fits so you don't have to worry about that! And if you're budgeted stick to Wabi (they will explain)...still as beautiful and totally versatile. Moving April not far from where they (fyi) but the store is packed with beautiful items now....WHY WAIT? Sorry..I may sound too excited but I am..I'm fairly new too!”

“Delicious vintage sari silks, curated with care, and transformed into wearable art. Incredibly cool in the heat of summer. Loose and airy enough to layer over warmer layers in winter. I honestly get compliments every time I wear one. Add to the exceptional support and customer service from the entire SKS team. So grateful to have found them. I have never been happier to get dressed than I do now.”

“Stunningly beautiful clothing and phenomenal staff. We arranged for a group of five of us to drive together for our first visit. The owner and her assistant were very welcoming showing us various options on how to wear each item we looked at. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be making another trip together plus bring/send extra friends. We all Love what we bought Thank You!!!!!”
