“Cruising on Carnival I picked the scooter outside the terminal only to have the scooter light blinking at me and the charging gauge showing it needed charging in yellow. I notificed the person at Scootaround about the lack of charging and he agreed it should have been fully charged. While in the terminal the elevator was down so I plugged the scooter in for 20 minutes to help charge it some. Once I got to the room I charged the scooter for two hours so I could use it for a couple of hours that night but it took overnight charging to get back to full charge. It should have never been given to me not being charged. Usually on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity I receive it either in the room or delivered to the room fully charged. My husband went to get my lunch while I stayed in the room to let the scooter charge. Not happy with the way my cruise had started out.”
“It was so nice to have the scooter onboard when I got there! It gave me more independence, and my husband some freedom without worry. I definitely will use your service if I sail again.”
“I’ve rented scooters from Scoot Around many times and it was great! I can go with my family and not miss out on any fun. I mostly get a scooter for the cruise ship and have not had any issues at all.”
“The scooter was fine, but we were in a non-accessible cabin on our cruise -- and the scooter DID NOT FIT, despite the fact that we were told it would. We were forced to leave it in the hallway, and run an extension cord to charge it.”
“ordered and paid for a scooter rental for an alaska crise . upon entering the ship there was NO scooter for me. multiple calls told me that there was NO scooter for me and there was no way i was going ,to get one you sure as hell took my 2 month prior payment. will NOT u8se you again”
“Scoot around was one of the best mobility companies I deeply with. Very professional and prices are well worth the ride. Will rent again and tell family and friends. Thanks Scoot around”
“I sent a letter to Kendra after my trip three months ago. Still have not received a reply.
This is what I reported:
Hi Kendra
At boarding and getting the scooter, I noticed that the scooter was making a clacking sound. I called your office to report this at around 12:30pm on the 10th of December 2022. I was told that the cabin staff onboard would assist me with the issue. I find this totally irresponsible as they are not trained in scooter maintenance. They were not able to help me.
Furthermore the scooter was held together with duct tape on the base as well as on the armrests. It was an old repair and the duct tape ruined two of my tops pulling threads out. The horn would go off by itself continually and made my use of it very embarrassing and scaring or annoying other passengers.
It was a most disappointing rental and certainly not worth the money I had to pay for it. I am certain you could have found the time to replace the scooter before the cruise left port, but no effort was made from your offices to find a solution.
I am going on another cruise in June but will not use Scootaround.”
“Easy pick up and drop off at the hotel. Great communication and they work with you regarding drop off and pick off times. The scooter was in great shape. It ran well and I got very far on one charge. We were at the MGM and went up the whole strip and back, on one charge. It never came close to dying. I’m very pleased with the scooters and service I received while I was in Vegas!”
“We were very pleased if we had not had them we would not have been able to get off the ship with our grandkids and our Daughter. We had no trouble with them staying charged my husband and I had one . Looking forward to doing this again”
“I have paraded from them several times and only one mishap period. When getting ready to board the magic on february fifth twenty twenty three there had been no scooters delivered and we wait about
30 minutes for them to bring them.”
“When I arrived at the Tampa Royal Caribbean cruise terminal. I was told where to pick up my Rollater Walker, it was not there. I had to walk around, very uncomfortably, until finally someone from the cruise line located where it was being held. It took about 20 minutes, with everyone trying to get on board around me. To locate it. I was not happy. I would prefer to have it in my room when I arrive. I will probably take my own next time.”
