“The person was at my location for all of three minutes. Did not look at anything in detail. He just saw the basement, and immediately said that "we are scheduled three months out already and won't be able to do the job". I couldn't believe it. Very short and blunt. I really feel his actions were based on the Chicago neighborhood, because there was no way it had anything to do with the actual work to be performed. He didn't even ask what the scope of work was, or if I was okay with the 3-month timeline. The last few times I have called this company, it has been some shady story about why they couldn't come over at all, or that they could not do the work at all before even showing up. This time, the person actually came, and I got a step closer, but he walked back out of the house in less than five minutes. I've engaged them a couple of times, but it was in the suburbs. It was very upsetting to watch that man walk out like that. And when I called the phone line after he left, the lady just stuttered and gave me some baloney reason to try to back up the guy's actions.”
“Caution! Get pricing UP FRONT! With that said, the service provided was top notch. Mike was great and was put in a very difficult position. I requested the annual $99 rodding of my sewer line through the online form on your website. The service that was provided was apparently a $279 service that I was NOT aware of. When I paid Mike, in cash, he accepted it and drove off. He returned a few minutes later and claimed that I shorted him. I explained that I requested the $99 service and would NOT be paying $279. He countered with $149 saying that was as low as he was authorized to go. I requested to talk to his manager. The regional manager Bill was very curt and rude claiming, "We don't do that $99 annual deal anymore"(it is available and is on their website). He then proclaimed, "The $99 deal is only for clogged sewer lines in emergency situations. The service you got was $279". Bill would NOT budge, even though the mistake was clearly on their end! I was then sent an email and a text to pay the additional $50. This is TERRIBLE customer service and The Scottish Plumber, who I have used for the better part of 10 years, will NEVER get one cent of my money ever again. Like I said, get the pricing up front.”
