Unfortunately not an option for zero, listen to the reviews people, shower of crooks in this company. They will do everything they can to avoid paying out any money from your pension. How this company have not been brought yet I will never know, it’s disgusting and they are destroying peoples life’s and retirements

I reported my fathers death to via my bank at the end of March requesting that his life insurance policy be redeemed. 3 months and 3 complaints later and I have not even managed to obtain a claim form from . Disgusting behaviour especially during a bereavement which is a bad enough time without this extra hassle. Scottish Widows openly admit that it is not their policy to talk to other departments within their own organisation. Agent stated “Departments do not talk to each other so messages left with customer services will not be address even when escalated as a complaint for the 3rd time”.

I have just looked at appalling reviews and what baffles me is that there is a so called governing body and they are obviously not doing their job. My ex husband and I have four children and we were sold endorsement policies telling us that if anything happened to us or if we retired our mortgage will be fully paid off and we will also have a lump some. Halifax building society deny that they paid the independent financial advisor alongside Scottish widows. It didn’t pay our mortgage off . In fact there was a shortfall. The whole system is made of people ripping you off and these governing bodies do nothing but turn a blind eye. I am disillusioned by the system

Disgraceful service. They have the worst online portal I have ever seen and they will do whatever it takes to hold onto your pension and drain it with fees. Look forward to having to get a minimum wage job after you retire because you'll have nothing left after these guys are through with you. Absolute criminals

We all know that the value of investments can go down as well as up but my Scottish Widows pension fund has dropped at a rate of 10% at the same time as another pension fund I have has gone up by 8% and the FTSE has risen by 12%. I retire in two months and can’t wait to start withdrawing before they lose more of my treasured pension pot. Things are bad enough without this level of incompetence. I watch their TV adverts with dread as I think about the people they are selling bad investments to an will be writing to the newspapers to warn people.

Ok it’s been 6 months now , give me my money you dirty bastards , waiting for a refund for 6 months is unacceptable, and transferring your pension scheme to another one is impossible with these crooks

My husband and I took out life insurance with Scottish Widows over an 18yr term which expired last year. We each had separate policies which expired at the same time. Obvs we weren’t keeping an eye out every month waiting for them to end, and as it’s relatively small amounts, you don’t notice them going out of your account compared to other DD’s etc. We were depending on them to inform us prior. They did not. Consequently, we were both without life ins for months before we realised. I contacted them to ask why they hadn’t informed us, and they claim they sent us both letters, separately. How convenient. However neither of us received one. That leaves us feeling very dubious. I was told someone from the complaints dept would call me within 5 days. No one did, and I received a letter saying the same thing. That’s all. They don’t do anything that they claim they’ve done or are going to do. Avoid big time!

Got my annual statement through and evidently after theyve held my money for another 32 years it will be worth £14 LESS than it is today. Total con artists.

Terrible service, have tried on numerous occasions to transfer my pension to another provider and they won't even send me the forms as they promise to do. Something very wrong with this pension provider and worrying.

Been saving all my life with this firm it’s time for me to collect and they’re making it incredibly hard to recieve my money from them in any way possible, the staff send you round in circles. It’s as if they’re under orders to try and keep money from customers in the hope they give up and Scottish widows gets to keep the money. It’s very strange 5 month later numerous endless hours on the phone and still not a penny received. I would strongly advise to not use this company.

My partner died October 2020... I applied for his savings.... Suddenly in August 2021 another investment appeared... Since then Scottish widows have refused to pay out... Not giving a reason just holding onto the money... Multiple emails and phone calls to the complaints manager has had no effect

I have had similar issues.I am dealing with an estate, the money was sent to an account that it couldn't be put in. Santander asked for the transfer details and Scottish widows couldn't give it. 5 calls later they said it was a bacs transfer. Santander told me to tell them they needed to trace the money. The money hasn't bounced back You ring any if the customer service people and they lie to you. I've had 3 differen't dates for this money to be paid. I rang yesterday and they hadn't tried to trace it. They are absolutely shocking. I intend to file a formal complaint via Lloyds as its pointless talking to their customer service. I would never invest with them at all.

Death policy Listen you should pay a death policy out within days not months. All you are doing is causing more grief for family. ARE YOU IN FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES

We lost my partners father 11/12/21 We knew he had a life plan with Scottish widow’s with a minimum settlement of £4850 to cover his funeral expenses We then spoke to the bereavement team at Lloyds who sent the appropriate paper work This was returned by recorded delivery with the death certificate and my partners bank details etc After about 8 working days I rang Scottish widows ,they acknowledged the delivery of all paperwork to meet the requirements When asked when we could expect payment they advised me it would be 85 working days to complete the payment Obviously we questioned this stating the funeral fees would be due soon and we have no means to pay (no probate is needed) They where very unhelpful, I asked for a line manager but was refused My father-in-law took this policy out in 1992 and never missed a payment Take my advise and stay clear of this disgusting company
