“Here is the latest update on my 2 cars that are being imported to UK by ShipMyCar:
1. 1978 Toyota FJ-45 shipped from Australia, cleared UK customs October 3rd 2023. That is 198 days ago. Please see photo 1 below. No vehicle inspection report provided by ShipMyCar, no progress on MOT or new vehicle plates.
2. 1982 Toyota FJ-40 shipped from Dubai, arrived ShipMyCar workshop September 25th 2023. That is 206 days ago. Please see photo 2 below. Required some MOT work after failing test September 29th 2023, these repairs were paid for with credit card October 17th 2023. Also told March 4th 2024 that electrical harness needed troubleshooting work, this was approved by me same day please photo 3 below.
Simple question again to ShipMyCar as you never answered it last time:
When will my wife and I receive our 2 cars that you have held for nearly 7 months?

“Shipmycar arranged all logistics and paperwork for my Japanese import from Bristol port to their warehouse in Milton Keynes. All DVLA processes, changes and adaptations such as IVA and MOT were done and I got my car a few days ago in great condition. Very professional. The online updates they use are very easy to understand and serve as a reminder of which processes have been done or need to be done. I would use them again in future for yet another import and am grateful for all they did for me.
I even got my car delivered right to my doorstep in Swindon after all work had been done and all the DVLA registrations were complete.

“ShipMyCar were contracted to ship a car from South Africa to the UK.
Quoted 12 to 16 weeks. Collection was some 30 weeks later.
Communications was very poor throughout.
From a web site which promises so much and delivers so little.
The time for shipping and delivery was 3 times as much as quoted.
Communications was very poor and required much prodding after each step failed to materialise.
This in turn caused me to make multiple changes to my rota to be available for collect of the car, as each deadline changed.
Made a journey down to Milton Keynes in Nov 18 to collect my goods and personal effects, as the car was no where near being available for collection.
The car was not ready or accessible on arrival after being informed in advanced of my arrival date and time
After constant prodding as too progress, being informed the car was ready for collection in Feb 2019 and having 7 days to collect, after which time a daily GBP10 fee would be chargeable, a time and date was confirmed and still the car was not ready, the license plates were being fitted and the side window tint was being removed on the day of collection.
After informing I would be collecting the car that day.
Additions to the quote were added without communication.
All in all a rather long and drawn out process which could have been better handled if the communication were all the was promised.
Would not recommend for shipping your car.”

A slow process because of delays at testing station and the DVLA but no fault of ShipMyCar. I am certain it would have taken a lot longer if I tried doing it all myself. Highly recommend them.”
“Extremely poor customer service, managed to allow my car to fail the first IVA due to a faded sticker on the tow bar (factory fitted), in all it took twice as long than it should have (they had my care for 4mths). The only saving grace was they did not charge me for the additional IVA but some other costs crept into the invoice...so, no customer service, quote not maintained and way way way too long...I would not recommend this firm to anyone...”
