“I am very disappointed. I purchased a fresh container of fabric shoe protector from a shoe shop and used it as advised on the Hush Puppy shoes to protect them but the black splodges occurred on different parts of each shoe destroying the gold pattern. The shoes are not wearable”

Hello Thank you for getting in touch, and I'm very sorry to hear about your Hush Puppies shoes. I can understand how upsetting it is when a pair of shoes gets damaged. I've looked into the product you bought, the Collonil Carbon Max Upper Cleaner. I want to clear something up: it's a cleaner, not a protector spray. A cleaner is made to lift dirt out of the upper, so it works differently from a protector and can react with some dyes, metallic finishes and printed patterns. That's why the bottle advises testing it first on a small, hidden area to check the colour holds. Because the product is a cleaner and the label carries that warning, we can't be responsible for the damage to the shoes. As a goodwill gesture, though, I'd be happy to refund what you paid for the Collonil product. Just get in touch with us by email and we can arrange this. If it would help, I can also suggest a suitable protector spray so this doesn't happen with your other shoes. Kind regards, Martin
