“Great handrail, good brackets, terrible fixings. What should have been an easy job became far more involved. The fixings supplied are really cheap, the screws are large but made of soft metal, the plugs are relatively small leading at almost every screw camming out. One totally rounded meaning drilling the head off and leaving the rest in the wall. In the end I went to toolstation for 200 no5 x 50mm stainless screws, they were perfect and fit the bracket recesses well, although ultimately I ended up with 195 screws too many for a cost of almost £14.”

Hi Gary, Thank you for your reviews. All our screws are stainless steel high-quality screws. They are certified and are tested for the job. From previous experience, it looks like you have used the wrong type of tool to install the rails. In our instructions, we say do not use an impact driver, and always ensure the right size driver is used. The screws you have purchased from Toolstation are chipboard screws and are not up to the job. This unfortunately is an installation error. It is also a common mistake that plugs have to be bigger than the screws used. They do not. A plug should always be smaller than the screw in length. We have sold over 35k handrails to many happy customers and very rarely have any issues and this is certainly the first we have had with our screws. I have tried to reach out to you via email twice and we haven't had a reply. We have also had no correspondence from you apart from these reviews. “There is just one thing that I was not happy with. I went to a lot of trouble to make 2 separate orders as the handrails were to go to different sites. They were both delivered to the same site and I have had to arrange transport for one of them to be moved. The driver also left a parcel for an unrelated address, which we have managed to redirect.”

Hi Eric, Thank you for your review. I am glad you are happy with your purchase. I can assure you however that the plugs and screws work and are fit for use. It is a common mistake that the screws and plugs should be the same length. They shouldn't be and the screw has to force the end of the plug open. “Excellent quality product. I was quoted £2300 + Vat for 6 section balcony balustrade with complete install and paid just over £745 for the frame and then £445 for the glass. When order came Loctite was missing but sent out in post next day.”

“Very pleased with the high quality of the 3 mtr, square oak handrail and the fittings.Very secure tube packaging to ensure no damage during the delivery process.
