“Decent curriculum but the amount of errors I’m discovering in the books is a little ridiculous. My third grader should not be correcting the answer key.”
“I placed an order online for math textbooks for my son. Less than five minutes later, I found out that we had already ordered the same textbooks a few weeks ago as part of an educational kit. I immediately emailed the company to cancel my order. However, they refused, stating it is against their policy. Today is a national holiday, so nothing can be sent. Instead, I was given an excuse that they cannot do this because they ship too many items every day. I was told I can return products (who knows what happens when I return the items), however, I will have to pay return shipping. Even though they still haven't sent them to me, yet!
The only reason I chose this company was because of my son's school's recommendation. I will let the school know about my experience. If I had seen the other reviews prior to ordering, I would have purchased the books from another company. I recommend you don't order anything from this company. This company has horrible customer service.”
“I have been using Singapore Math with my kids for the past 10 years of homeschooling. Level 1A is so easy and straightforward to get started with. All my kids with different learning styles have benefited from it.”
“As a teacher (at home and professionally) the curriculum has been easy to follow and has worked great for my children. It offers extra activities for the lessons that you have the option of using. The lesson are well organized and follows the standards fairly well.”
“We use Dimension math for after school math tutorial. We believe that it supports many of the underlying principles and skills which help students improve their mathematical thinking.”
“The curriculum jumped around a lot and we have not liked it. In my sons third grade math we went from doing 3 and 5 multiplication right into 4 and 6 division.”
“I was a teacher at The University oof Chicago Laboratory Schools and ordered many of your books even before the school started using Singapore Math. Soon afterwards the school bought into your program for grades 3 - 5. The scores went up significantly in the next three years. Teachers and students love the bar modeling(even though it would be best if this started in kindergarten. Your methods make sense.”
“I am super disappointed that I ordered curriculum that didn't have assessments written for it yet. If I would have known this, I never would have ordered this curriculum. As an educator for the last 20 years, I didn't even think to look for the assessments, as I assumed like any educator would that assessments would come with curriculum. Do NOT buy the middle grades math - no assessments!”
“Primary Mathematics US Edition has been great for my homeschoolers. The curriculum is well organized and thorough, and the methodology has helped my children develop a solid grasp of mathematics and the base-10 number system. Dimensions Math 6 was also great, with a very helpful teacher's manual to accompany the curriculum. Dimensions Math 7 has a well written textbook, though we have discovered a few printing errors that made certain portions confusing. And there is no accompanying teacher's manual, only a solutions manual. A teacher's manual with a guide to instruction would be a huge help in teaching and dividing the material into digestible lessons. I hope the company will consider making one for Dimensions 7 and 8 in the future.”
“After researching 15 different homeschool math curriculums, our family decided to give Singapore Dimensions Math a try. I am so happy we did! My 4th grader and 2nd grader both love it and my kindergartener is evening excited about following along with the lessons. I will purchasing Dimensions for her too the next time I order!”
“This is an excellent math program, we are learning and growing. The 4 stars is that it may be a bit much. Our first graders are routinely getting 50 math problems per day which is a bit overwhelming at times. You can definitely pick and choose but if you’re OCD..... lol. Also our third grader is getting some division word problems that are easier to do if you understand Algebra. Our family is full of math majors and concur it is occasionally more advanced for beginners. This is at times causing burnout and feelings of defeat.”
