“Hello everyone
I’ve read some good reviews here but every day is not a sunny day so i would like to share my experience of misery I’m having since September 2022 Since the day I’ve bought the car there’s an issue with the gearbox and still not resolved
Even after having many appointments for the same problem dealt by the same technician all I can see it’s never going to be repaired or replace the gearbox
Because my warranty is about to end next month so I requested them to change the gear box if can’t be repaired
But they need a reasonable reason for that to be done
I wonder the whole one year many appointments same Unsolved problem
DO THEY STILL NEED THE REASONABLE reason to change it
All I know they sold me the faulty car and gave me warranty because they know how to sell the car but they don’t know or maybe don’t want to retain the customer
So I would strongly advise the buyers to be very very careful when buying Skoda especially from CITYGATE SKODA SLOUGH
Please look at the appointments pictures on Citygate Skoda Slough website reviews if need evidence
Thanks”
“The bottom line is to beware, as Skoda fit inferior parts to their cars, which will end up costing you more money in the long run.
My first ever brand new car was a Skoda Scala, however after only 10,000 miles one of the brake discs corroded away so badly that parts of it had flaked off and was causing a very disturbing noise and sensation when braking.
Typically a brake disk will last 50,000 miles, so I naturally assumed that this was a faulty part and wanted Skoda to replace it, which I thought was fair enough. However, they denied it being faulty, which means that if it is only lasting a fifth of its lifespan, it is simply inferior.
I approached my local dealer, whose hands seemed tied and suggested I went straight to the company (even though, to me, they are one and the same), so I approached Skoda UK directly and this is where the fun really began.
After a full month, which involved only 3 phonecalls and many many missed deadlines for 'someone will call you back' I eventually was told (by email) that nothing would be done about this issue.
I called them repeatedly to get an update as I felt one emergency stop away from an accident, but nobody called back. It was the worst customer service I have received, probably ever. And I know if they deign to respond we will get the standard Covid boo-hoo response, however this was all during Oct/Nov 2021 at which point just about every company was back to full strength.
So, today, after driving around in fear with only 3 working brakes for a month, I got it fixed (for over £100 less than Skoda quoted) and the garage told me that they have never seen a disk in such a bad condition at this age.
Terrible customer service, a blatant disregard for customer safety and if anything happens to your car outside of the first 6,000 miles, no matter what it is, they couldn't care less.
First Skoda, and while the car is fine, I will never by buying one again knowing that they are filling their cars full of sub-standard parts.”
“I am now on my second Skoda car, the only time I have owned the same make twice. My local dealer is superb, always treats me well, remembers me when I walk in and will always do the best price they can.”
“Mis-advertised the car I purchased. Finally agreed to refund the £10,000 car but refused to refund the £45 car mats?? Had to complain to head office for a full refund. Very rude and unfriendly staff at WSM.”
