It seems to me that Streamfab lives by the assertion "if it is not broke than break it". Every time a new update comes in (every week) you are afraid to download it, feeling it is destroy last week's update and cause everything to fail. This pattern is repeated over and over. Even if the program is working fine, you cannot keep it as they force you to update to a likely non-working version. If you own several plans, such as Amazon, Netflix and Paramount, it is rare that all will work at the same time. To fix one, they seem to have to break another. At present, Amazon and Netflix work for me but Paramount, not so much. If is does, the top download speed is less than 1 mps while Amazon is at 25 mbs. With that speed it takes three hours to download a 45 min recording and 90% of the it fails. A waste of time and effort. At present it is too frustrating to be desirable.

I bought a lifetime license about 2 years ago for about $200. At that point I could not find good alternatives, and it only served me to download productions mainly from Netflix and Prime. I think that in an era when streaming platforms are becoming more and more numerous, and at the same time there are situations when movies disappear from some sources (mostly documentaries, I think), it is good to have access to such a tool. Unfortunately, early the very beginning, StreamFab had a problem with content downloaded from popular streaming platforms in my region, and some do not support at all (e.g. Canal Plus, etc.). For at least 1.5 years I did not use it, and when I switched back to it, I noticed that nothing had changed in this matter. For Netflix, I found a workaround (I have to download through the children's profile, otherwise it doesn't work), but Youtube Downloader (based on yt-dl), which is part of the tool, downloads non-DRM content at ~100 KB/s most of the time (StreamFab clones similarly), when "yt-dlg" offers it to me at 5-10 MB/s all the time with the same results. After recent updates, I am getting download errors quite often. I was hoping the app would do better, but to this day I regret buying it.
