My dog likes the food, however, I do not like that my only option is to spend over $150 each order. Trying to store 14 packs is a pain. Why can't I just buy half of that so I don't have to store it nor fork over the $150 each time? I cancelled today after missing an email that said I needed to reschedule the upcoming order by yesterday. It's deceiving, the packs are supposed to feed my dog the correct amount of food but, my 20lb cockapoo eats twice what they say he should eat and he maintains his 19.3 lb figure. Am trying another of the many options out there.

While my dog Henri really liked the food ... It was quite messy dividing each packet into two meals. And I was told it would be $4.10 per day. After the first promotional package was mostly consumed they told me they were sending me 56 days worth in one shipment and we're going to charge my card $252. In text communication, they didn't respond at first and then finally did respond after I said do not send me anything more until we've got this sorted out. Today I got a message from them saying they charged my card and we're sending the 52 meals out. I called them and they said they'd already charged my card. I am so unhappy. I told them I couldn't afford $252 at one time every month or every 52 days. That I would be happy if they could split that into or make some other arrangement. They said they would do that, but the price goes up 50 cents per day. I can get 30 meals at a time but it would be 50 cents more per day. So they're going to charge me, a 67-year-old single woman barely surviving on social security an additional 50 cents per day. I'm so mad I can't see straight. Needless to say, when I asked for a manager they said somebody will be in touch via email sometime. I'm so mad. I refuse to bend over!

I've received 3 orders and on my 3rd, which might be my last. First shipment fine, 2nd had punctured bags that leaked when defrosted, 3rd that I'm on has undercooked chickpeas that I feel my dog isn't digesting Because he pooped out a whole one a couple of days ago. Today blood in his stool. This food is too expensive to have these quality control problems There are other brands similar out there I think I'll try. I put off my next shipment and thinking I'm gonna switch. They also sent 17 packets that take up alot of space in my freezer that I'm not thrilled about....beauty (sarcastic) of subscriptions. They hook you with the first box and then down hill from there.

My 12 year old chi/terrier mix did enjoy eating it and it saved me a lot of prep-time. Unfortunately, she started vomiting an undigested portion in the middle of the night and then wouldn’t eat for days. A few of the frozen bags appeared to have defrosted and was refrozen prior to shipment and I received them mis-shapen, crooked and smushed. I should have tossed them out but cost made me doubt my own gut instinct. I decided to try Fresh Pet since I can pick it up locally in several stores. She’s even happier now and danced around after eating with a squeak toy. So, I’m switching to Fresh Pet in the sealed log. I can cut off her portion, heat it slightly, mash it, seal the end and store it in the fridge crisper for 7 days. A safer bet. No more dry ice, big boxes to break up and recycle and I buy as needed. More room in my freezer too. Plus it’s reasonably priced by a long shot.

it's mushy, certainly takes more than 12 hours to defrost....overnight and then some...it's then cold with ice crystals in it......is a mess to take out of bag and store...it's expensive...and my dog only likes the beef...it's just too much to deal with...and did I mention expensive again?!! No thank you.

Ver, VERY EXPENSIVE!! I received 4 packets of food that would feed my dog two and a half days and it was almost $77.00 dollars!! Plus the pork has so much fat in it if I tried to run my finger over the spoon it was super, super greasy! My dog did NOT like the pork AT ALL!! It got to where neither one of my dogs would eat any of the food. I don't know if they changed the recipe at any point on my subscription! They never did gobble it down like the commercial though!

I'm a professional pet sitter and have been in business for 10+ years. I have a few clients who have fed their dog(s) Farmer's Dog. Some dogs do fine, but many do not. They like the taste, but experience a lot of gastro issues including diarrhea. Recently, I found out that one of my client's senior dog has a serious kidney issue. He was diagnosed with elevated creatinine, or Brun. Brun is caused by too much protein in the diet. After doing a Google search I found that Farmer's Dog contains 50% protein. Most dogs shouldn't get more than 25%. Please talk to your Veterinarian before you decide to feed your dog Farmer's Dog.

I am a veterinarian, I don't feed my dogs this diet but have some clients who did or do. I have seen some pets have gastrointestinal issues with this diet. I found that the food was in pretty large chunks (especially the sweet potatoes) and weren't being digested in one dog. Others had issues with their stool quality, which could be related to the fat content. I feel that with the right guidance, a lot of pet owners could make this food at home for a fraction of the cost.

I have been receiving FD - Food for 2 years now. As I unload each shipment I read the "guaranteed Analysis" content pages that you include. The 3 "recipes" used to be "50-55-60% moisture" - More than half of each sleeve is WATER ! - Recently you have increased those percentages to 72-76-76% = you are basically selling "dog food flavored ice" - A great business model - as LONG as you get away with IT!!

I have been buying from the farmer's dog for quite some time. On 2 occasions I received 21 packs instead of 22 packs. It's just one pack missing but that is cheating the customers. Charging them for 22 packs but delivering only 21 packs. I thought they would rectify the issue or it was by accident the very first time but it happened again.
