"After packing a TV screen with 10 m of bubble wrap and in a carton box to ensure that it is secure- it arrived with my son from PE to Stellenbosch-my son noticed a paw like dent on the packaging only to find that the RV was completely cracked and broken. I immediately reported it to the courier guy on the 19th of February as requested. They responded to inform.me that the case had been escalated and 3 weeks later- no reply!! The Courier Guy- you should be ashamed of your service. I am an employee of a large medical company and be sure that I will share my shocking experience with their dismal service"

"So I'm not one that normally badmouth companies but this time the Courier guy has revealed their utmost disregard for our package and how little they care about their clients and that the services you take from them in fact means nothing.\r\n\r\nI purchased a tv and two computer screens from my brother and everything was still in mint condition. He just decided to upgrade his since he is an chartered accountant and he needed more \/ larger screens and just wanted a bigger tv. This made me and my family all excited because we can finally give some better things for the kids and we organize the courier guy transport from cape town to port Elizabeth and we took out the extra insurance option just to be safe. \r\n\r\nMy brother updated me regularly on his packaging progress, the large amount of bubble wrap he was using as well the polystyrenes and other soft coverings he got with his new tv that he used to protect the goods as good as one can in the new box that he also purchased for everything to fit. \r\n\r\nWhen the items finally arrived a few days later, i noticed something looked off with the box but was too excited and thought it would never happen to me so i did not take a photo of the extremely awkward position the box was on inside the courier guy van on top of other boxes. \r\n\r\nExcitedly myself and fianc\u00e9 take the goods inside and that's when we first noticed the bad shape the box was now in so we took some pictures just in case. \r\n\r\nWhen we opened it everything was covered in thick layers of protection and i felt relieved that nothing would be damaged because it was quite well packed. \r\n\r\nBut as we started unwrapping it, that's when my horror first set it. The packages box on the outside had a large dent on the one bottom corner. And i mean large dent, the entire corner of the box was facing inward instead of outward. \r\n\r\nAnd everything inside the box at that exact location, was severely damaged. The tv's frame was actually cracked and broken which takes a lot of force to do. The monitors also are shattered in the one corner and broken beyond use. \r\n\r\nSo extremely disappointed i knew i at least took out the insurance option so the courier should be replacing or paying out for our damaged goods. \r\n\r\nBut the moment the courier guy needed to start accepting liability for a service that they offer and that they accepted good money for, is the moment when they changed their tune and showed their utter disregard for their clients when it comes to money. \r\n\r\nSo i started by logging a complaint with their online chatbot and got my reference number. \r\n\r\nI followed up the next day and they said they are still busy investigating and need to go through camera footage and someone will then come back to me. But no one ever did and i had to constantly contact them to follow up with them where the process is. And every time the answer was the same.\r\n\r\nEventually about a week and half later i got a response that said they could see no mishandling on their end therefore don't accept liability. I was furious.\r\n\r\nI told them you can clearly see the different condition of the package from when it was collected vs how it arrived here from the photos we took but its like speaking to a kid who denies this black wall is black. And instead they kept on singing that same tune and started with other excuses which only makes it worse and reveals their lack of value for their customers even more. Next they tried to argue but because the electronics weren't in original packaging its not coveted. I told them that's nonsense and sent them screenshots of their website stating original packaging is ideal but if you don't have it then just get others. But still they refuse to accept liability and it was a back and forth of excuses between them and us and eventually they said they don't cover second hand goods. So at this point I'm absolutely furious. With the amount of damage on the package what would it make a difference if its second hand or not, it would have been wrecked either way. And they have the cheek to keep on saying they cant see mishandling and that the packages should be packed in such a way that it should be able to handle being rough handled in transit, in not so many words. Its ridiculous.\r\n\r\nThe package was clearly dropped from a height or bumped with a large force and either they don't have cameras everywhere or they do and they just don't care but they refuse to accept liability.\r\n\r\nIn fact I told them if they accepted my insurance money and the package when they collected, how can they still deny liability, why did they then bot reject the package when they picked it up. But they accepted it because that's the cold hearted money hungry business that they are.\r\n\r\nIt eventually came to a point where they stooped so low and tried more things to get out of liability by offering to pay me back the money i paid for the insurance but not the insurance amount. So now they are trying to reverse the insurance amount just so they don't have to pay out the insurance. Its absolutely pathetic business practices.\r\n\r\nI've screenshotted this entire conversation with them and will be taking it further, as a chartered accountant my brother has some connections.\r\n\r\nBut in the meantime i will never make use of this selfish company again and wouldn't recommend anyone else to use their services either. In fact my brother also from his own accord said he is extremely disappointed with them and used them regularly on a monthly basis and he now too will take his business elsewhere.\r\n\r\n\r\nAvoid using The Courier Guy \u2013 their service is appalling! The moment they're faced with liability for damaged goods, they completely fail their customers. Extremely disappointed."
