“We eat at Toby Carvery Basildon at least once per week and have noticed a decline in standards with food dropped on floor not being picked up, cutlery and glasses far from clean. This downturn was most apparent yesterday when the service at table was terribly slow and we actually stood at the front of a queue for 7 minutes waiting for the chef to appear to carve the meat. He did not bother to apologise. The food was also almost cold. This used to be top notch all round but sadly standards have fallen. It is the first time we have eaten there on a Monday and the time was 1.40pm”
