I started my process a little late but I am excited to say that I am making meaningful connections with colleagues via LinkedIn. “From Doldrums to Dream Job When I came to THR, I had been through four layoffs in four years in tech. To put it kindly, I had lost my mojo and felt adrift, questioning my talent and skills. I was also really skeptical about career coaching - I'd worked with a coach in 2021 for half the price with a very different methodology and felt that her way of working was too theoretical, fluffy, and didn't lead to any strong outcomes. In fact, it never did. From my first conversation with the team, I knew that this program would be different thanks to the blend of structured curriculum, support, and 1:1 coaching. You begin with self-guided work and quickly get to individual coaching about job search strategies and a partner to help you figure out how to best position yourself in the market. This is combined with a total, professional overhaul of your "marketing materials": CV, cover letter, and LinkedIn. And it's combined with individual interview coaching and SOAR story prep, something I'd never done before - but gave me the confidence to go nail my interviews. Boy, did it deliver! I'm stepping into a new role at a dream company in tech and a 70K+ raise in another week and the investment was worth it. I can't thank the experienced, compassionate and human-first team over at THR enough.”

They've worked wonders with my job marketing tools like my resume, and they have a great resume writing team (Yeneba Smith did wonders with me). The Coaching team also is a joy to work with, molding me into a better candidate already (again shout outs to Chikara Kennedy and Brittany Polanco). “I am a REAL person and I will freely admit I had to think very long and hard about spending the money that The Human Reach was asking for as their fee. I found it hefty until I did some research and found that, while there were plenty of services out there offering to help for 10% of the cost, there were also several out there that were 2-3 times what The Human Reach charged. I took the plunge, knowing that there was NO guarantee of a job. The program is very self-directed but I found that the coaching was taylored to me and kept me directed and moving forward toward my goal. Once I got into interviews, the work I had done with their guidance paid off to where I was able to ace the interview and get myself into a great opportunity. A lot of people think that these services are, "Sign up, get offered awesome job" with no work or detail on your end and that is untrue no matter what you do. The Human Reach hands you the tools you need, helps guide you through using them, and the rest is on you. Plain and simple. It was 100% worth the money......especially considering that the side door method and other tools they provide to you are permanent and portable-if you land a job and need to move on again later then you still have access to them. And you are easily able to connect and pay a small fee for more coaching in the future if you ever need the service again. 5/5 would 100% do it again!”

I really appreciate you being honest about the hesitation at first and doing your homework before deciding to work with us. I’m glad the coaching felt tailored to you and that all the effort you put in showed up in your interviews (This is what we strive for). You’re absolutely right. There’s no magic “sign up and get a job” button. It’s about putting in the work and having the right tools and strategy to make that work pay off. Love that you see the “side door” method and other tools as something you’ll carry with you for the long run. That’s exactly what we want for our clients.
