The Warranty Group sold me a Platinum Maintenance and Breakdown Care. My car developed a fault. The warranty Group told me it was covered in my policy. They instructed the garage to dismantle my car to inspect it THEN! the refused to pay. Left my car in bits in the garage!! I lodged a complaint and they have taken 3 weeks so far, no word! Nothing short of thieves.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, very long story cut as short as I can make it. I have the highest level of warranty available my Haldex pump failed 4 months ago I notified the warranty took my car into Land Rover who diagnosed the fault as “a sudden mechanical failure of the Haldex pump” the warranty refused to pay out and the excuse used was that “the pump had failed due to deterioration over time” despite the main dealer LRJs head Technician explaining to them that every part in every vehicle is deteriorating over time and this is not a good enough reason to reject a claim and not a true diagnostic only a matter of opinion they still refused to pay ( I should have taken this to court back then but my car had been off the road 3 weeks and I didn’t have the time to ring the warranty everyday and argue back and forth so I bit the bullet and paid the £1500 bill myself) fast forward 4 months and my car is again in the garage after breaking down this time the Haldex unit has failed and the turbo. LRJs Diagnostic came back as sudden mechanical failure of the haldex unit and sudden mechanical failure of a turbine bolt within the turbo causing the turbo to suddenly fail. But yet again the warranty company refuses to pay out and says the parts have failed due to deterioration over time, my car is 2017 on approx 45k. First they said they would accept the claim if my service history was sent to them and all in order, It is fully serviced by the main dealer and always has been, they then said that wasn’t enough the engine would need to be stripped and pictures sent, LRJ stripped the engine and sent them photos, this still wasn’t enough they wanted a detailed diagnostic from LRJ of the turbo and pictures to show it had failed,( although they had already had one) LRJ have now stripped the turbo and sent them pictures to show exactly where why and how the turbo had failed and being a turbo specialist garage have give a head engineers report/diagnostic of the turbo deemed sudden mechanical failure due to a turbine bolt inside the turbo causing the turbo to fail, would you believe this is still not enough they have now asked LRJ if they would pay for my failed parts to be fixed due to the low age/mileage of the car and if not will they send it to another turbo specialist for a second Diagnostic you honestly couldn’t make this up they apparently have no mangers to speak to, and anybody with any decision making power or anyone who can talk sense of the situation do not take customer calls I have lodged 6 separate complaints none have been followed up I now have no choice but to take legal action and travel to there head office to see if I can better communicate with them. I have had staff members laugh down the phone at me speak to me awfully hang up on me one told me Land Rover where lying to me so I added them to the call To determine the facts that staff member broke down crying and terminated the call once she was caught out lying to me, I am Embarrassed to even be a part of this situation but I will not rest until they pay out on a claim that they really have no leg to stand on as my warranty says In black and white I am covered if a part breaks due to Mechanical failure. I have been without my car for 4 weeks now they do not care as they already have my money, con men stay clear

!!!!AVOID RAC WARRANTY!!! I bought a bmw 640d 2013 in July 2021 All seemed fine but was urged into buying a "Full and comprehensive warranty" offered by RAC that would cover all failures Etc. Paid an extra 600(ish) and thought ok great I'm covered. Fast forward to December 2021 and the rear camera is giving error warnings and I'm getting a drivetrain error coming up. Called Carshop Swindon and they advised to call RAC(TWG) called them and booked the car in with an official BMW garage. Turns out after £270 of diagnosis work that turbo has failed and needs replacing. BMW call TWG who tell them they won't cover the reverse camera and they're not happy with their diagnosis of the turbo and they want it removed at my cost posted to their specialist and looked at and then they'll make a decision. So TWG want the manufactorer who designed and built the turbo and have told them what's wrong with it, to send it to a 3rd part to tell BMW what's his view with the part they developed and make. Basically 3RD party knows more about the parts than BMW !!!!!! It's the first time in my life where a company has told me that I need the actual manufacturer to send it to someone a 3rd party who is not the manufacturer. Usually if something goes wrong and you take it to an independent the insurance or warranty company Will request you send it the manufacturer but in this case TWG wants the manufacturer to send it to a third party who will no doubt tell the warranty company what they want to hear in their favour.......you can't make this up!! Worthless warranty will do anything not to honour their warranty including racking up costs on you in the hopes you'll give it up or telling you their "specialist" knows more than the manufacturer who made it!!! Ridiculous. Oh and if like me.you have 6 months left and want to cancel as you think they'll never pay out a claim.....you can't! WILL NEVER USE RAC OR TWG AGAIN! HAVE TOLD CARSHOP THEIR SALE OF THIS PRODUCT IS BOARDERLINE CRIMINAL! AVOID!!!!AVOID!!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!!! Update- 01/02/2021 No contact from TWG after requesting details. BMW called today and said after 15 days of having my car and spending hours on the phone to TWG claims line without getting through to an Agent to get this resolved, they have decided that they can't deal with this Joke of a company any further and to come collect the car and settle the £270 diagnostic costs. If I manage to sort it out then to call them back to book in. So to recap. Warranty Useless paper. Over 2 weeks no car BMW fed up with TWG and returned car unrepaired. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM TWG!!! RIP OFF SCAM ARTISTS WILL BE MESSAGING MARTIN LEWIS AND WATCH DOG TO WARN OTHERS. SHAMEFUL!
