“We have travelled for several years now to far flung destinations and almost exclusively used travel companies based in the destination country. I always had to use Google to find companies. In wanting to go to Brazil this year, I came across TravelLocal. My experience to date with the development of our itinerary has been fantastic; I wish I had discovered TravelLocal years ago. I gave their Brazil partner my wish list and they told me what it was practical to do in the time we have, and gave me a draft itinerary that was within our budget within very few days. They then patiently and efficiently fielded my questions and suggested revisions resulting in several further itineraries before we booked. Furthermore, because our travel dates are over 10 months away, they contacted all the accommodations to get them to accept a booking with a lower initial deposit. Our experience to date has been VERY favourable!”

“At the end of 2018 we decided to book a holiday to Vietnam in early 2019. A minefield of availability but not flexible or the cost was horrendous. The larger companies went on specific dates some part of a group some not, we also want a rest at the end of our tour. Local travel put us in touch with a local company in Vietnam. They provided us with all the prompt information and revised our itinerary several times to accommodate our choice of hotels and international flights from the UK. Cost not the cheapest or most expensive but competitively priced. Hopefully on our return all will have gone well, lookout for the conclusion”

“We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar organised by Travel Local in conjunction with African Scenic Safaris. We were wonderfully looked after and stayed in beautiful hotels and tented camps where the facilities were just right - not opulent but in keeping with what we were about. Our safari guide was absolutely first class with a wonderful knowledge of the local wild life including the birds - and a great sensitivity to our needs and wishes - we could not fault him in any way. He was also a skilled driver. Wherever we went we found people welcoming and well-informed - and we are only sorry it is all over! Until the next time.”

“What a great service we received from Travel Local and their partner in Georgia (Europe). We have travelled a lot and like to fill our holidays with exciting activities and have become increasingly frustrated with the mainstream UK travel companies. Either they are not flexible enough to do what we want or simply act as a conduit to agencies local to the area we want to visit. More and more we have found ourselves going to specialists but travel local takes this idea one step further. We were put in direct communication with someone in Georgia within hours who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and flexible. We were in contact with her every day as our itinerary was refined and within a week of almost no stress had exactly what we wanted. We were very impressed!”

“We traveled last year to Thailand with the help of Travel Local. We loved all of our boutique hotels, excursions and guides. We had one problem but after a call to the home office everything was quickly resolved and the trip continued smoothly. It’s nice being able to say what kind of trip you want, how much you want to spend and being able to tweet all the details yourself. We are headed off to Asia in December for another adventure with Travel Local.”

“The service we have had so far from Travel local has been amazing. They put us straight in touch with a local agent who has in turn provided us with amazing itinerary for our 2 month tour of South America. We only had a very short time to organise the whole thing and we’re on a budget which they have been great at helping us to work to. The contact and communication with the local agent has been really easy and the whole experience so far has been completely hassle free.”

“As a previously independent traveller I am wary of tours & yet I felt I needed a bit of help to ensure I was going to get the most out of our visit to a less familiar destination. “A very good way to book local arrangements in far away places. Very attentive to needs and changes required if necessary. Booked an itinerary for South Africa for my daughter based on her already going to be in the country for a wedding which was already organised. Had 7 days "free" after the wedding and they organised a tailor made programme based on her needs and interests which she could change if necessary. It looks good and met her wishes and she will post a review after returning. It is great to know that it is the local people who are benefiting rather than UK Travel Agents”

“I came across TravelLocal while doing research on my trip to South Africa. The idea of having a local company put together our itinerary sounded perfect as they have all the local knowledge and you still have the financial security as you are paying a UK company. Lea from the local company in South Africa didn't disappoint as she has put together the perfect trip for us which we can't wait to go on. Nothing was to much trouble we changed things around a couple of times from the first initial itinerary that was put together and each time Lea came back very quickly with any changes that we wanted. Definately a first class service that I will use again and also recommend to friends. Thanks TravelLocal”

“This is our first trip to India and though we would normally plan a holiday by ourselves we felt inadequate in this instance. We didn’t want a group tour so looking online I found Travellocal who offer custom made holidays with local people. Our experience prior to our holiday has been excellent. NutanI has replied quickly to any queries and rearranged parts of the itinerary to suit our needs. She has also been helpful with advising us when to go and how to maximise our holiday in the time available. We are looking forward to our trip in February.”

“This 5 star rating is regarding the planning of our trip to vietnam and cambodia . Hang has worked hard to get our itinerary exactly right for us ...changing it four times! This will be our second trip with my travel local and we anticipate it will be as good as the first trip to india...we are a couple in our late 50 s now in a position to travel but need guidance ! My travel local we highly reccomend ....will post again after the trip in march .”

“I haven’t had my holiday yet, but booking was really easy and I have been kept well informed. I was able to tell the local company exactly what I wanted and the itinery they sent me was perfect for my needs, every thing is taken care of , even visas, a great experience so far .”
