“This was our fifth trip organised through TravelLocal – we’ve seen the company go from strength to strength. Thanks to the local agents we have enjoyed itineraries tailored to our interests with excellent good-value characterful accommodation. Knowing that one can rely on the local agents selected by TravelLocal takes the stess out of holiday planning. This year took us to Morocco. TravelLocal's local partner came up with a great itinerary to cope with the fact we only had a week, but wanted to experience different aspects of the country. The accommodation was super, we loved the guide and with the driver we were in safe hands. The planning of the trip was really easy thanks to the TravelLocal website and responsiveness of the local agent. Couldn’t be bettered. Can’t wait for the next trip!”

“I came across TravelLocal while booking a trip to Uganda and loved the concept of security from local sight, but genuinely local team putting the trip together. They didn't disappoint; the Local Partner understood what we were after, put together a perfect trip that balanced challenge with interest and some luxury, and made excellent recommendations with a genuinely local feel. Everything worked perfectly and my Wife and I had a wonderful time (for a cost that was significantly less than some of the major players)”

“We haven't taken the trip yet, but the booking process has been very smooth and responsive. We are dealing with a local agent in Colombia, and he has customized our trip just the way we want it. Communication is very smooth via email. Now the proof will be the actual trip....!!”

“I was very impressed with the on line trip planning questionnaire. It built up a very clear picture of exactly what I wanted so I was confident a suitable itinerary would be produced. 3 hours after my enquiry a perfect, comprehensive, illustrated itinerary was emailed back to me and I made the booking. So quick and simple”

“We were looking for a short trip, a week in Sri Lanka where we get to see lots of places, we had no idea where to start! After sifting through lots of other websites, Viraj at Travel Local sent us a suggested itinerary & it had everything we wanted so we booked it! They arranged accommodation as well as sightseeing so we didn't have to plan anything ourselves, that's what we were after. Perfect.”

“Had just confirmed our booking to South America. Both the UK and South American teams have been very helpful in the whole process. They communicate clearly and promptly, and provided all the information that we needed as they waited patiently for us to make a decision. If everything goes well with the tour itself in 2019, I will definitely book my holidays via travel local again.”

“Found this website quite by chance whilst planning a trip to India. We had wanted to contact a local travel agency in India but were wary without knowing more. I initially just wanted some information and prices but the person I corresponded with was so helfpul, so responsive and planned such an great itinerary we went ahead and booked it. We went back and forth quite a lot looking at places to visit and I asked for heritage type hotels to stay in. I'm really looking forward to my holiday next April Was very happy with the service from travellocal.”

“I found the website was really easy to use. It was helpful to see a selection of holiday ideas for the country and to read information about the travel company we would be using. On the booking form, I thought the questions were just right and I particularly liked the ability to select multiple interests. These questions allowed me to give a comprehensive overview of what we were after and meant that we didn’t end up changing anything on the itinerary that the travel company put together for us. I love the idea of using locally based companies but being able to pay through a secure site. We have travelled with local companies to other countries and had to wire money, which felt a bit dodgy! Interestingly, I recommended the site to my mum and she found it really difficult to navigate.”

“I have just booked my second holiday with Travellocal. The concept fits my requirement perfectly. I get to describe my holiday ideal to a knowledgable agent in the country I want to visit. I can then tic tac with them by messages on the Travellocal site until they have the itinerary and price that fits me. I pay Travellocal in sterling and am proteced by ABTA. When I arrive at my holiday destination I am treated by ‘locals’ as a VIP and monitored throughout the holiday to ensure I am happy. What more could you want?”

“We have tried to source local travel agents and high quality UK based agents. Their offerings were always a compromise Travel Local agents are receptive, responsive and deliver high quality tours. This is the way forward”

“By using Travellocal you are in fact using a local agent in the country you are visiting. This year we visited Myanmar and the local agent was fantastic. We emailed backwards and forwards in order to perfect our trip. Everything worked out really well and we had an amazing experience. We have just finalised a trip to Ethiopia and again the agent was great. Someone who lives in the country and knows it well is surely going to give better advice than an agent in UK. And of course your money goes directly into the local economy.”

“We were so happy with our first experience with Travel Local - two people, two weeks in the Southern Caucasus in September 2016 - and so enchanted with the region, that we had hardly arrived home before we were planning a return visit - this one twice as long and with nine companions and asking Travel Local to organise everything for us. We’re home now after an absolutely wonderful month and I can only say that from the very first enquiry about putting this second trip together, Travel Local and their Georgian counterparts did a fantastic job for us. The tour was truly tailor-made, with an excellent itinerary that accommodated all our special requests. Communications were so easy, responses always came promptly and nothing was too much trouble. Once we arrived every aspect of the day-by-day organisation of the tour - hotels, activities, sightseeing, guides and drivers, etc - met all our expectations, every day was a delight - and it was all the best fun.”

“My wife and I have very recently booked a tailor-made holiday in Sri Lanka through TravelLocal. The process was about as good as it could be. We answered an initial questionnaire, then responded to a series of itineraries covering transport, accommodation and activities. By the fifth itinerary we were happy to sign up! Nothing was too much trouble for the TravelLocal representative and we have ended up with a trip that fits our needs like a glove. No doubt we are paying more than for a standard group holiday, but we are getting exactly what we want at an affordable price. Highly recommended!”

“We are delighted that we found travellocal.com and deeply impressed by the service we have received to plan, book and pay for our trip to India. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do, when we wanted to go, and what sort of accommodation we preferred. The itinerary that we were given ticked all the boxes save one, we wanted a 'free' day to mooch. Nutan, our excellent contact in India, speedily introduced this into our plan. We had no hesitation in booking up straight away. I should add that one of the elements that has been the most impressive about the whole process has been the speed, ease and clarity of communication. “This is a company with a big idea and we are very happy to support it. We first traveled with them to India in 2014, and we have two more trips booked , back to India later this year and next year to Costa Rica. Don't believe you are going to compromise your holiday choices by using this ethically traded company, in fact you increase the flexibility and choices you have, you are able to talk directly to people who know and live in the country to build a holiday that is truly 'tailor-made'. Each 'local company' we have dealt with directly have been faultless in their attention to detail and in their desire to create the holiday you want. To us this is the gold standard, we are able to have the holiday we want at the same time knowing that our money is not lining the pockets of Hedge Fund owned international travel conglomerates, but directly to the small local companies in the country we are visiting.”

“I found an advert for Travel Local in my Wanderlust magazine and decided to give them a go as we were planning to visit a friend in Hong Kong and wanted to add on another country in Asia and Laos was our choice. Making our request was easy and the replies from the travel agency in Laos were always prompt which was much appreciated. All of my questions were answered about visas. Luckily there was a range of possible itineraries already on Travel Local’s website so it was easy to pick what we were wanted to see. We’ve arranged a tour guide, transportation, hotels, excursions for our group of 3, paid the deposit which was easy to do on the website and the total cost came out much cheaper than anywhere else. International flights are not included but that worked in our favour as we are also going to HK. You still have ABTA protection which gives peace of mind. Now all we have to do is wait to go on our trip!”
