“As the other guys say, this company should not be in business. Don't believe what they are saying on the website or email. The truth is only in their T&C. They display "Free cancellation" which is NOT free of charge at all but you cannot find any fee information on the surface at all. You need to click and open the T&C file and read it in detail for 30 min, and then you can find you have to pay the admin fee ANYTIME you cancel your booking whether it is "Free cancellation" or not. They intentionally set a trick and try to deceive you by hiding real fees in T&C, and when they get claim, they say you have agreed our T&C so you need to pay it! as following the manual. very classic but really dishonest. If they don't have intention to deceive customer, they should NOT display as "FREE cancellation" and / or should display fees for cancellation because they require fees ANYTIME you cancel. In addition, they only accept cancellation by email because they need to proceed with the cancellation with charge such fee automatically whether the customer recognized such fees or not. when I requested the cancellation and confirmation of returning full amount of money i paid for "FREE cancellation booking", they replied to me about fees. I claimed I didn't know such fees and asked to stop cancellation, then they said "we have already cancel your booking with fees. You have already accepted our T&C." Even I requested the confirmation of full money back, they cancelled my booking with FEES without my consent! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM for saving your precious money!”
“This company doesn't even deserve a 1 out of 5 stars. Terrible customer service and take days to come back to you on any queries. Do not book with them - rather pay extra for better service.”
“This company should not be in business. They did ripp me off. They made a mistake on my booking and then came back days later asking me to pay extra for their mess up. I won't recommend.”
“They lied to me that the money I paid includes a checked in bag. I called them three times to do confirm I didn't have to pay extra, they said I was not going to... Fast forward to the flight check in and I was forced by the airline to pay $120 to check in my one bag and my wife's one bag. As a frequent flyer, this is the first time I have ever had to pay for just one bag. Even if I were to pay for a check in bag, I would have loved to have paid while booking the ticket, not while checking in and paying from the money I was travelling with. I'm still here trying to get a response from travel up. They have been rude on the phone. They have also ignored my email so far.”
“They should not be aloud to do bissnes in USA. I book a hotel , choice a room with water view , which cost more than regular room. Got confirmation for city look but for a higher price. I call them, looks like they just playing stupid, or make you look stupid, after being on a phone for all day with them, I call hotel direct. They did not mention another $40 charge per day, this is why they’re prizes looks cheaper. So now for 3 days I am trying to cancel there reservation, and this is still not canceled! They keep asking me , are you sure you want to cancel
DO NOT USE THEM”
“Can’t call it customer service, shouted at us on the phone. Couldn’t understand a word he was saying. Very unwilling to help with a flight change due to family emergency, he couldn’t care less, never again!”
“I booked flights through traveling to Canada with my two grandchildren . Our flight was supposed to leave on 1. August 2018 at 10.55 it was 11.32 when I received a message to tell me our flight had been cancelled . Losing 2 days of our vacation, what is your obligation to me regards compensation ?”
“Terrible service. I had to cancel my reservation for a hotel in Miami because my flight was canceled due to bad weather conditions. The hotel said I should contact Travel Up, but anticipated that I should have no problem with the refund. However, I contacted Travel Up several days ago and still have no final response on the refund. They are blaming their supplier for the delay. What kind of service is that? They are holding my money for days! Also, they do not accept cancelations requests by telephone. I had to send the request by email and they are very slow replying my messages. I am very disappointed with this website. I definitely do not recommend it. I prefer to use Booking.com or Expedia.com. They have much better costumer service.”
“Advertises Hotel rooms at prices that do not exist, takes the money as you press confirm and then doesn't promptly refund when they actually do not have the available room.
They actually ask you if you would like them to find another hotel for you.
As if this day and age you can't do it yourself.
The vendor is blamed for not having the room available.
This no way to run a business in 2018!”
“Used Travel up to book a hotel. Got to the hotel only to find out they’d never received the booking request. The hotel sent us away as they were full. Since we were out we requested a full refund from Travel Up. We were told two business days. After 7 days, we disputed the charge on our credit card. They have yet to refund us! Do not use this company.”
“I booked a flight for next year through travel up and noticed that one letter in my name was spelled wrong. I emailed Charlie who was dealing with the ticket and he said to send a copy of the passport and he will get it done in 1 week. when I called in 1 week I was told that it will be done within a week. After 2 weeks I asked to speak to Charlie's manager and he reassured me that it will be done within the next 2-3days as Charlie was unwell. After 4 weeks with no response I again spoke to Garry smith the manager who reassured me that Michell will sort it out and will contact me. When it didn't happen I called Singapore Airlines who called Garry Smith directly and helped to get it sorted. They then charged me a total of £140 that's £75 as the fee for travel up and £65 as the fee for Singapore Airlines. After 12 calls to an expensive number and 8 mails which were unanswered and with £140 and after 5 weeks it was sorted.
Don't book any from these agents specially if you are booking far in advanced (the fair difference between Singapore Airlines and Travel up was only £20). If I had booked through Singapore Airlines directly I only had to pay £65 for name change.”
“I would leave zero starts if I could. I asked 3 times for an itemized receipt so I could do my business expenses and never received a response.
Can't image if it was something more pressing what would happen.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.”
“Was told id have a full refund if cancelled.. they tricked me into paying some deposit thats non refundable.. made it very unclear... all other sights such as expedia give full refunds ...no hidden fees ... beware”
“My flight was rescheduled and the staff at Travelup were extremely incompetent in trying to rectify the problem as I ended up stating what I wanted to be done time and time again and they STILL went against my wishes. Terrible.”
“I paid £572.98 for One ticket to Yerevan on Aug/2017. When I informed the company that I have a problem travelling with 2 transfers one week before the travel time, they informed me that the ticket is unrefundable and they just pay me £15.25 (Tax fee).
I cant beleve that they DID NOT EVEN PAY ME BACK THE LITTLE £15.”
“Do not answer support emails. Had a medical emergency and travel up delayed and delayed until the deadline for changing my flight had passed.
Stopped replying to my emails, blocked me from their social media and refuse to refund the tax from the missed flight.. I'm not asking for a full refund, just what I am owed!
Avoid at all costs.”
“Be careful horrible experience, worst travel booking ever., I had purchased two rooms for Dominican Republic, one for my family from USA and another for my family in Cuba which couldn't travel because their visa was denied, I called with enough time in advance to cancel one of the roomsthat cost me $2000 dollars, they doesn't discuss anything by phone, needs to be by email only and they even bother on called the hotel to upgrade the only room, cancel the room or postpone for a future date, once I called and the woman who answers from India or Pakistan who knows, hang up the phone on me.
we end up loosing our money.
Never use this company. We will never do it again. Worst ever.”
“I have never had to write a review before but watch out ever for this company. They took over 15 thousand of our money and then denied it received payment. We confirmed with our bank and they took our money. No tickets and no money and we are still arguing to get our money back. Worst experience ever. I would been better off buying the tickets from the Russian mob or from the markets of Lagos. Please be aware of vendors such as travel up especially if your a family which works to save their money for traveling”
“I have never felt the need to come and review a travel company before, but our experience with this company was appalling, and I wished we had known before using them.
We booked our honeymoon tickets to America with them last year, and have just returned after a 4 week trip. We saved up and booked Upper Class tickets with Virgin as a real treat.
Our flight out was fine, however when we came to check in at Las Vegas airport a couple of days ago we were informed that someone from Travel Up had applied for a refund on our tickets on 18th May - whilst we were on honeymoon. We obviously had not sanctioned this, we had no communication from Travel Up and there was no money refunded to my credit card. What made us even more suspicious was that my husband's ticket was refunded first at 9am UK time (1am in Las Vegas), and then 10 minutes later mine was refunded.
We then spent a frantic hour trying to contact someone from Travel Up - all of the "emergency" numbers informed us they were closed and the number for the "duty manager" rang out. Eventually the Customer Services manager at Virgin found a random mobile number on the internet for "Ken" - who thankfully picked up. After a total of 3 hours of what should have been spent soaking up the last of our honeymoon in the lounge and within 10 minutes of check-in closing, Travel Up accepted culpability and Ken agreed to arrange for replacement tickets (for which we are grateful), however with no explanation of what had happened.
It all just stinks of fraud, and the emergency contact protocols are not fit for purpose. We will never be using this company again, and have written to the CEO - awaiting his response - and will escalate to the ombudsman if needed.”
“Tried them twice as they always appear the cheapest. First booking made on Friday was cancelled on Monday because the flight price changed and they were not able to book it on Monday!?
Alright, thought it could happen to everyone, 2 months later, another booking I made back in March for the trip in November was cancelled because as one of the agents from Indian call centre told me - the ticket was never issued - which is a lie, as I was able to order meals and choose a seat using airline website. Two months later, all my non refundable hotels go to waste..
Their call centre is terrible, whenever you call they have no idea what this is about, even if you call them few minutes later. Speaking with most of their agents is very hard as the quality of English is low, and additionally agents are like robots, talk over you, ignore all what you say..
Remember, you've been warned.”
