This company are ok until you have a problem. They haven't a clue about customer care, and their attitude is appalling. I ordered a bed with drawers on 1.3.2019 for my sister who was in hospital at the time. It was delivered on 8.4.2019 minus the drawer section of the base as they had managed to break it them whilst loading it onto the van. I was told this section of the bed would be replaced ASAP. I heard nothing further so rang customer services on 15.4.2019 to ask what was happening. I was told "Oh yes, it's in stock" but they didn't know why I hadn't been contacted. The base section was delivered a week later but was the wrong size. It was another week before the correct size could be delivered. When I asked about compensation I was eventually offered a refund of the £30 delivery charge which didn't take into account the costs I had incurred having to travel to my sisters for the 2 extra deliveries (petrol and unpaid time off work) and the phone charges incurred by constantly having to ring them(their promise to"respond in the quickest possible time " and deal with emails within 12 working hours are a pack of lies). It took another 2 months of phone calls and emails to wrestle a further £15 from them and there was no apology or acknowledgement of the stress and hassle I suffered. I will never shop with this company again and have advised all my friends and family to avoid them at all costs. Do yourself a favour and shop with a professional company because this outfit are a complete joke.

The original work on my carpet wasn't completed up to standard including the door strips not being fitted, carpet still losing etc. Therefore I rearrange for this to be fixed. The quality of service is unacceptable. As a customer I expected the work to be carried out to a satisfactory standard. 4 times I have waited and no one has shown up.

We have used this company previously with no problems. This time was terrible. We had a mixture of carpets and vinyl fitted throughout our home. Firstly they cut the bathroom vinyl in front of the bath rather than it going underneath which we had requested and paid for. We only discovered this when we went to install a new bath panel a week later and couldn't as the vinyl wouldn't have reached it. We rang the store and they didn't seem bothered but promised a call back which we never got. So now we're stuck with an old bath panel we can't replace. Today they fitted our lounge carpet. It has been raining yet they dragged the carpet along the floor where they'd walked in wet shoes so marked it. I pointed out one particularly badly marked bit and they said they always allow extra so would cut that bit off. Then they realised they scarcely had enough so it only just fit. They also took the seat and back cushions off our brand new expensive suite and chucked them onto the floor which was dusty and wet from their shoes. I was horrified and ran into the room to grab the cushions. I mentioned the mark on the carpet when they'd finished, about 8 inches square, and he said he'd clean it. 5 minutes later he said he'd sorted it. They left, then 5 minutes later returned saying they'd left their turps. I found it on the window sill and gave it to them, not thinking anything of it. As the afternoon wore on there was a terrible smell of turps giving all of us headaches. Suddenly I realised what they'd done....they had wiped the mark with neat turps! To make things worse, it has left a stain. I've scrubbed it but can't get rid of either the stain or the smell. So now we have a brand new carpet with a turps smell and stain. Absolutely disgusted that we've saved up and wasted our hard earned money. As well as the cost of carpet for the stairs, landing and lounge, plus vinyl in the hallway and bathroom, we've handed over £150 in cash for fitting. I am absolutely disgusted.

Had cushion floor fitted in the kitchen just before Christmas and by February it was rippling up and causing a trip hazard. Contacted United Carpets who sent the fitter out who denied it was bad fitting and would not take responsibility. Then emailed for a refund but received an extremely poor response. This has left me out of pocket and needing to go elsewhere to have new cushion floor fitted. This response has been shoddy and unprofessional. My advice to any potential customer is to perhaps look elsewhere.

Ordered a new mattress for my son on 01.01.19, I was told it would be delivered on the 07.01.19 as it was the new year. Rang after the 7 days to be told it would be delivered by the 14.01.19,it did not arrive. I was told another 7 days. Rang again on the 21.01.19 to be told it would be delivered on the 28.01.19, again it was not delivered but it finally turned up on the 29.01.19. As a bonus I was told they would throw in some pillow as compensation you will never guess, they did not arrive. Over the month of chasing the delivery I sent 2 emails of complaint to which there was no reply, I was promised a call from the area manager at United Carpets and Beds Mansfield but no call was ever received. I also rang head office where it was like talking to a corpse. Would I buy from this company again, NO I would sooner sleep on bare boards than deal with this company again. Poor service, poor communication.

I had carpets fitted in 2015 bedrooms landing and stairs 18months later the risers on stairs were showing signs of threadbare I rang and asked if they were insured yes I was told but after explaining the problem was told sorry it's down to ware and tare no-one came to look at what was wrong. There are only two of is living in the house I think that the carpet was laid wrong on the stairs.I am in the process of finding a match and will never use United carpets again.

Had day off work for hospital appointment arranged for agent to call to measure up at 9am. Rushed to take child to school and was home 8.30.They didnt show!!! rang store and was told he was sitting there and he knocked door several times and nobody was home.Even if that were the case, i cant undertand why they wouldnt put a card through, wait 5 mins or follow up with a call.There was not anyone knocking the door as they didnt arrive.Lucky escape after reading reviews

We ordered new flooring for most of our rooms and paid over £1200. All the fitters were great, except the laminate fitter. Everything I asked him to do was questioned, even when I asked him to lay the correct wood in one area - he told me the wood he had put down “looked better” and huffed and puffed when I told him I wanted the correct one down. Poor finish in areas. Left a lot of mess as he cut the wood inside, even though it was not raining and I have a large drive. He used my Dyson vacuum, without permission, to clean up his cement. Left cement all over the driveway, wheelie bin and fence and did not make any attempt to clean it up. Insisted I paid him cash. Took spare boards with him. Shop lied about certain things as well, including quoting £10 a m2 to have screeding but ended up paying £150 for 6m2. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE OR RECOMMEND THIS SHOP.

Mexborough the fitters don’t turn up the staff don’t know the true we had about 4different story’s very bad won’t purchase there again

Your advertising is misleading, You will not price match any carpet like for like , I found the same carpet on another retailers website £12.50 per m2 cheaper , I called your main office and was told it was down to my local store as they are all franchises, I called the store told they could not price match the other lower price ,

Visited united carpets in Stechford, Birmingham and found the lady there very pushy suggesting carpets and colours that she liked. We did have an issue when the carpet was fitted and when called for advice the same lady was very rude and abrupt. I won't be using or recommending United Carpets in future. Very poor customer service.

When purchasing the carpet for my stairs landing.A Sheet showing how the fitters would follow covid guidelines.When hthey arrived never asked about covid none of the three guys weaing gloves mask putting us all at risk,will not use again
