“Upshift is a great way to work but only if you can find a job. With Upshift's popularity growing it is getting harder and harder to find certain jobs. In some instances, up to 42 people are vying for the same job. You used to be able to work enough jobs in a week to cover your bills. Not anymore. Now you just make enough for extra spending money. Also, employers are reducing hourly pay due to the increased number of people looking to work. :(”

“I love the service, constantly had work! Then, I went to a job and the ppl that worked there were mad that I was doing a job that they wanted to, I know this because they complained about it every day. So what happens? The employees caused a problem on the job site that got me BANNED from the app. I've never had a problem like this on any job I have had in my life. I'm sure that wasn't their intentions. They probably thought I would just be kicked off the job site, by turning nothing into something, but they cost me reliable income that helps me survive. So, not only did I lose a place I liked going to, but I was also suspended from the App. I had hoped all of the jobs I had done on the app and multiple locations I had been to would speak for itself, but Support decided to suspended me anyways. I guess you wouldn't or couldn't understand unless it was happening to you.”

“It’s not the jobs it’s the fact that I got my car broken into then days later my U haul stuck got broken into I was hours late and left late on those days only. After spending hours on the phone with one of the supervisors about what was goin on in my life tellin her I was homeless and spending time at both jobs one with upshift. I asked her if it was ok if I was late….. because of wat was goin on. She said it was ok. The next day things was different and she didn’t know what was goin on. Then I get something from upshift that I’m fired and I didn’t inform the employer nor upshift… Upshift was a honest mistake but the job was aware. Seems the one was in charge found out that we make more and they was not happy about it. I was a full service manager while working for upshift. I wish that upshift was not quickly to fire. It’s sometimes the employer LIES……….. Some irresponsible people have power and abuse it…. Upshift can be GREATER and can communicate much better than quickly cutting u off w/o real facts…….. thank you kindly”

“Upshift has benefited me greatly by providing me the opportunity to work with the company in a time when I was out of work and actively applying while simultaneously being denied employment with the the same companies I’ve applied. If I’m being completely honest, Upshift has came at the best time and has prevented myself from experiencing dire life consequences. Furthermore, I’ve relocated since my last assignment and whenever I travel back home, I have the luxury of making extra money while being on vacation! Thank You Upshift 🙏🏽😊”

“On 2 occasions I was penalized for no show no call when in fact I worked. Hard Rock Casino and TQL Stadium sites in Cincinnati, Ohio. Both assignments log in and out systems won't allow wifi access due to security access. This means that, it is up to the site manager duty to submit your hours. Resulting in me being suspended and unable to speak with a live person at Upshift to explain.”

“I would recommend others to use upshift. Upshift provides the option to manage your schedule. The best thing about upshift is that you're not contracted with an employer and you're not obligated to return to back to a place you don't like. Upshift will remove you from the platform regardless of any situation you experience if you're not able to cancel the shift. Life happens and there are things that we don't have control over. Upshift will permanently remove you from the platform if you cannot cancel the shift within a specific time frame regardless of emergencies, illness, accidents, etc. There should be a call outline as well for others that cannot access the internet at the moment to avoid being removed from the platform. As an independent contractor, I definitely understand the purpose behind the policy. Overall, Upshift is legit and a great platform to use”

“I love Upshift! And have recommended it to many friends. I think the offerings are diverse and payment is very prompt. I will definitely continue to pick up shifts! :) I do want to share a thought though about an area that could use improvement. Upshift has become quite large but it’s mostly impossible to speak with someone real time. Early morning or late night I totally understand. But normal business hours? It’s a runaround and I don’t feel like poking around texting someone who may or may not answer about something that needs resolved or there is a question about. I think one time I literally texted over the course of two-three days to clear my name (or try) about an event and why I couldn’t make it…in line with this concern, I realize this is gig work and you have pretty straightforward rules that are easy to follow - but I was locked out for a very lucrative week during the holiday timeframe last year due to a flat tire (unfort the flat was my third call off under 24 hours). It was an extremely early shift and I even took pictures of the flat and sent them over…nope, no exception to the rule. I understand… well, sort of...but it bothered me that I was now compared against someone who literally doesn’t show up and therefore, locked out with zero debate. Anyway, overall I love Upshift but thought I would offer a few of my thoughts. Thank you for the opportunity to review!”
