The rack works great! Holds my bikes securly on long road trips and off road. Its easy to lock them to as well. my only complaint is that I can't lower my tailgate all the way with it on. but that could be fixed with an extendor.

The rack worked well for a huge family trip all the way to Canada and back but it is a beast to move around and generally takes almost two people

Great rack! Does everything awesomely well and looks better than the cats meow! Only drawback is it is dog-on heavy. They could have at least made the tire baskets out of aluminum (kept them the same thickness) and saved maybe 10 pounds or so. Seems like they could have saved weight on the thing. It takes a lot of strength to install it. Bikes load super easy.

Love the rack! Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it rocks alot when fully loaded with 7 bikes. I'm concerned it will wear out the pivots sooner than later. I have a family of 5 and the boys always want to bring multiple bike so it's not a light rack too often. HOWEVER...the customer service has been amazing and the team takes care of you. Definite quality and care goes into the rack. I have definitely recommended these racks to others. Happy trails.

I love how easy to load my Velocirax is. The only drawback is that my tailgate on my Toyota Tacoma won’t open all the way with the rack lowered. With the tailgate receiver adapter, the tailgate will open but the whole thing is too low to the ground and has a tendency to bottom out.

Its crazy heavy, bounces around a lot and bikes are going to bang into each other. It’s also very expensive. Its also very sturdy and well made, i have no concerns that the bike rack will get damaged in use. Honestly I’m more concerned that it’ll rip the hitch off my car.

Good rack. We love the design. Areas for improvement: there is a wiggle (front back) at the elbow that is annoying and bounces around, especially when loaded and the road isn’t smooth, one of the baskets bent (unsure how), and the lock (when using installed cables) bounces around if traveling while bikes are secure. Otherwise, good (but heavy) rack. We’re looking forward to more improvements in future versions. It’s already way better than other 3+ bike racks.

It’s a great bike rack, it’s unfortunate that they do not offer free shipping at the price they are charging for the bike rack.

We're glad you're liking the rack! Due to us having local pickup as an option, we don't intergrade our shipping prices into our products like other companies.

My mom bought this rack for our van. It's very secure, although sometimes the rubber straps are hard to put on. I have 515mm reach 1350+ mm wheelbase bike. Was really impressed that it had enough ground clearance on our low van. Overall a great rack.

I bought a 5 bike rack in the spring , replacing the north shores I had . the velociraxx is so easy to use, load and unload effectively. also when you put the rack all the way down you can use is as just a bike rack . the only downside I'd have to say is it's heavy but on a truck you can't tell the difference.

Super awesome camp mode shot! We're happy to hear you're also enjoying easy loading. Keep having fun!

Very sturdy bike rack... Wish it was a little easier to put on and take off. It is so heavy duty you need a couple of strong men.

Love our VelociRAX! It works great w/ our 'regular' MTB's. However, take note if you plan to haul heavier eMTB's - we had one of our Specialized Levo's pop out of one of the baskets after hitting a big bump on the freeway. Thankfully, the lower strap held onto the bike, dragging it on its handlebar as we pulled off the side of the freeway. Nowadays, we supplement the rubber straps with 2" velcro cinch straps & use bands on the brake levers - so far, it's been solid & we have never had any problems since... though I still have PTSD from the experience & cringe any time we hit a bump.

We have never heard of something like this before! We are happy to hear you are enjoying your VelociRAX regardless of this unfortunate turn of events. Would you mind sending images or more details to us at support@velocirax.com? Each tire basket can support up to 55lbs of bike weight. Were both tires strapped in? Love the dampers and ability to store at the garage, got 6 bike version, space quite tight, would advise to use 5x in case u do not need 6; Integrated lock system - awesome ; Would recommend the following rack to anyone who wants to carry more then 4 bikes

The garage storage has been a game changer for us too. The spacing of a VelocirAX 5X is helpful for loading a variety of bikes without much planning, so great advice! Ride on!

A bit heavy and hydraulics are a bit of a fight when pushing back into place with a load of bikes. But it is well built and happy with it overall. Also like the versatility! It's a great wall mounted in the shed for winter bike storage!

Like the rack a lot so far. Very easy to load and unload, bikes seem very secure as well. Only thing is for this price point I feel it should have come with the internal lock. No way I’m hauling any bike without one much less 5.

Very sturdy, bikes were completely stable on 500+ mile trip. Highly recommend this if you need a 6 bike carrier. The hydraulic piston works great when lowering the carrier but is a PITA to get the thing back in position to pin it once you disconnect it to lay it horizontally to take the carrier off, which is about the only functional way to manipulate it. You would need to men to instal it angled up. Horizontally 1 man and a teen can get it done. But like I mentioned the only way for it to get into this position requires you to un pin the hydraulics and they don’t go back together easily. I wish it was a little lighter and I wish the main vertical support had the ability to be adjusted for hight. My Escalade hitch is plenty high so If could lower the bike hight it would be way better for fuel economy. Believe it or not mountain bike tires about the roof will wreck your fuel economy to the tune of -6mpg. I’ve check with my 4 bike flat tray style and 4 bikes on the velocirax and that’s the difference

Rack is good but I really do dislike the black straps that go around the wheels. They suck. Hard to get the holes to go over the piece that secures it. There has got to be a better way to strap the weeks down
