“The meat used in the traditional beef bars is full of sinew and inedible. You have to actually spit it out as you can’t swallow the blob of sinew. So dissatisfied and disappointed. I would discourage anyone from buying this product and I have given it out to friends and they similarly thought it was bad.”

“Recently received a replacement pack of chief bars to replace the original batch I purchased which where full of inedible sinew. However this new batch was also full of this inedible sinew. I must admit this is the only meat bar i have ever tried, but I'm assuming this is not normal, and I have been extremely unlucky.”

“Had the sample box. Very expensive for what I got. I didn’t enjoy any of the products. Collagen bars all had a strange unpleasant chalky texture. Beef bars were not very nice either also with a strange texture, like a bunch of soft compressed jerky. The biltong was also too soft, I have eaten a lot of biltong and jerky over the years the best by far is the natural hard, almost crisp, stick biltong. Africans have been eating this for hundreds of years and it is still the best dried meat product. I do like the fact you use organic grass fed beef.”

“Worst product I have tried. One of the biltong bags when we opened was mouldy all through the biltong.”

“To be honest, the taste on all was dreadful. The biltong had no flavour. I opened a pack and yes was covered in a white coloured film. Yes it was mouldy. We didn't take a photo because we actually coukdnt believe it. The collagen bars texture is unedible.”

So sorry about that Peter and thanks for letting us know! Because we don't use nasty preservatives we need the bag to have a perfect seal otherwise any oxygen will allow mould to grow (it's the same mould as cheese so it's harmless but gross!). We'll be in touch to send you some free replacements!
