“Winns solicitors were employed by our Insurance company.
They were dreadful giving bad advice from the start, which turned out to be because they were trying to get more money for themselves. The simple accident took us 16 months to resolve and we had to go to court, all because Winns were incompetent, not replying to the other insurance company.
They repeatedly asked us for information and said they hadn’t received it.
They were awful to deal with as it took them a week every time to get back to us if they got back to us at all.
The courts made them pay for the losses and included a payment to us for time lost and expenses which of course they have not paid and will not engage about.”
“Myself and family were involved in a road traffic collision within a different area to where we live.
Quite bad, as it occurred on a motorway where a HGV’s offside hit our vehicle’s near side causing our vehicle to spin and crash into the crash barrier at around 70mph.
Airbags deployed, front end crushed upto the wheels arches, vehicle facing live traffic, front passenger side windscreen cracked where my eldest daughter was sitting. Genuinely thought I’d lost my family who are my life, thankfully we were able to exit the vehicle into safety.
Easily the scariest moment of our life and what should have been an amazing weekend where we were dropping our daughter off at University and one of the proudest moments of any parents life, turned into a real life nightmare. Accident occurred in an unknown area around 2.5 hours away from our home address, I had my own views on emergency services overall dealings and we (3 adults and 1 child) were dropped off at the next service station with around 8 bags / suitcases which again was an alien location.
In terms of vulnerability, we were vulnerable given the circumstances and unfortunately our insurance policy only covered ourselves to travel home and to a certain valve (please please please, read the small print and opt for a higher cover if travelling away from your home address).
I spoke with David Whenray from Winns solicitor and what a diamond he was from start to finish. Despite not having key information which Police failed to provide in terms of how ther parties insurance, David did his utmost to provide reassurance, try and establish this information but given the time unable to obtain this via their channels but his professionalism shone through and he was genuine as they came. Caring, thoughtful and wanted to help every step of the way and we will be eternally grateful for his help.
David contacted ourselves on Monday when he could next follow this enquiry through and established the relevant insurance details and progressed the matter. A courtesy car arranged very soon, personal injury progressed and a very efficient and fluid service.
David Whenray is a credit to Winns Solicitors, restored my faith in a service and made a very difficult process easy and pain free.
Still on the early stages of a claim but so far, I wouldn’t hesitate to use or recommend Winns Solicitors and grateful that people like David are around.
