“Updated Review
My initial experience with Woodcraft was frustrating and disappointing. On March 21, I placed an order for a 19-38 Drum Sander and Infeed/Outfeed Tables. I was charged $165 in shipping, then later discovered the sander was backordered and that Woodcraft was promoting free shipping for the same item. My efforts to get a refund or adjustment initially went nowhere.
However, after posting about the issue on social media, submitting a BBB complaint, and leaving an honest review, Woodcraft finally refunded my $165 shipping charge. While I appreciate getting my money back, it’s unfortunate that it required so much external pressure for them to do the right thing.
I’m sharing this update so that future customers know the full story: Woodcraft did eventually resolve the problem, but only after I had to take multiple steps to expose what I feel were misleading and inconsistent practices. If you choose to do business with them, be sure to keep a close eye on backorders and watch for any upcoming free-shipping promotions before placing your order.”
“they work as advertised but wish they came with the magnetic hose connectors. You can get a combined fitting for the 4-inch connector but not the 2.5-inch connector. Not a complaint about the hose fitting, just that you need both to connect to a machine.”
“The Allen wrench tips keep coming loose and falling off. Does not work well on anything under 2 inches wide. The depth stop works great and has a smooth action when drilling.”
“These work okay on a smooth floor also got the bed extension and light kit These work well also would have gave extra stars if I hadn't had to wait 5 months for them to arrive. I will never purchase a back ordered tool again”
“The pen looks and feels great. The clicker is made of plastic and doesn't take the press very well. It cracks in the middle and then it won't click and hold.”
“Magnets need to be stronger. Great concept, but a bump of the hose can cause it to fall off. If the hose can be supported it is helpful. I am using a small spring clamp to hold it better,”
“I really, really wanted to love this plane but there was just too much I cant look past for a $400+ block plane I had to wait 10 weeks to get. This seems more like a $100 block plane to me.
Pulling out of the box I noticed right away that the appearance of it was much to he desired. It looks more like a returned hand plane than a new one. The cap iron has chips out of the wood and the brass has deep tool mark scratches on it. When checked on a surface plate, there is a high spot right behind the mouth that the plane can rotate on. There is brass dust stuck to the japanning that that also has small chips in it.
The adjustments on it are not smooth and it’s tricky to get set right.
I just expected so much more for a plane this cost. You would be better off buying a Lie Nielsen and a Veritas and still not cost as much as this plane. I love Clifton planes but this one hurt.”
“Quality is not there for this T-Square. Off by 1/16 of an inch, which may not sound like much, however when you are building out of wood you really need measurements to be correct.
Also this is made in Taiwan and looks like it is powder coated aluminum or very poor quality anodization. I would recommend looking elsewhere (Red Tool?) for a better quality for not much more.”
“Purchased this through another source. Its ok for setting the angle for my plane and chisel jig but for get using this as a guide to sharpen a knife.”
