“Ordered book through this company, after 10 days of no correspondence I enquired about my order. I was told the book hadn’t yet been dispatched due to being out of stock.
This was not communicated in their advertising of the book.
I only ordered through this company as they are local to me. I’ve ordered products from overseas that have arrived far quicker.
Also after inquiring about where my order was , they told me it would be dispatched that day . It is now 2 days later and I have not received any correspondence on the book being dispatched.
I will never use this company again even if I have to pay a higher price elsewhere.”
“I placed an online order for 3 books on the 14 November 2025 and paid $86.95 on that day. I finally received the order in the mail on the 25 November only to discover only one book was sent. I rang and enquired about the other books and was told that they had just received one from their supplier and they would send that out to me. The other would take about another week and a half to get to them I was advised, and then the same amount of time again to get to me. All three books were written in Australia by Australians. And all were paid for weeks in advance of me actually receiving them. They were all supposed to be gifted to someone this week, but now I have to wait until I receive the second book and the third i've cancelled and asked for a refund as that was going to take another 3 weeks to get to me. I was not advised at all of these massive time issues. I will never ever use this company again to purchase any books. Severely shocking customer service.”
“I purchased 6 books on the 10th December. That night they sent a newsletter email stating that orders were to be placed by midnight that day for Christmas delivery.
Then on the 20th December they sent an email stating that 2 of the books had missed the christmas cutoff and they would send as soon as possible.
Then i got an email on the 21st December saying the other 4 books had also missed the christmas postage cutoff.
When i asked why it had taken 10 days to process my order i was told they were busy.
These books were for my 6 month olds first Christmas. Now with 3 days before Christmas i am left to find something else to get him.
Booktopia cancelled and refunded my order at my request.
I will NEVER buy from Booktopia again, this has upset me very much and nothing can fix this.
AVOID Booktopia at all costs.”
