“The par-3 golf course at Charlton lakes Leisure Center is becoming a beautiful place to play golf, thanks to the magnificent work of the dedicated green-keepers. But they are employed by TVBC. Places for People (PfP) Leisure have only one responsibility and that it to provide and maintain the poles and flags marking the holes. Since that company took over from Valley Leisure, this duty has been completely neglected. Poles are broken or missing and many of the flags that exist are tattered rags Multiple requests for maintenance by the local golf club are ignored. The club pays over £3000 a year to PfP for the use of the course, but receive no response to their requests and little action on the course.
The pavilion cafe, also under PfP "management", is dysfunctional. Milk sours in unreliable fridges, the range of drinks is sometimes limited by faulty machines or lack of supplies Closures have been witnessed because of "staff shortages"
How we rue the day PfP won the leisure contract in Andover.””
“Unfortunately, since Places for people leisure (www.placesforpeopleleisure.org) have taken over the running of Romsey rapids sports complex it had degraded rapidly.
The staff have lost all moral, the website doesn't work, they don't seem to be able to operate a squash court booking system and the gym is not operated as well as it was previously.
This seems to be a case of messing with something which was working fine, I can only assume that this was for financial reasons. Perhaps places for people are either very cheap operators or they're just sapping the place of money for their own gain. Either way, the local Romsey community has lost a good facility and now just has a very poorly run facility.”
