“Calling me 3 times a day from different numbers is worrying... aggressive tactics and worrying they question why i dont want them contacting me again... scam tactics and very conscious of this mob.”
“Avoid this bunch of chancers.
The 'Survey' is in fact a salesman who operates in 1970's style. The sales pitch is 'Commit today and we can take £6,000 off the cost of your battery, but this offer only lasts whilst I am here' I mean , talk about hard sell, i really feel for those people that get pressurised into this, this should be illegal. Any offer that expires when a Salesman leaves the door and is not open to scrutiny is clearly not a great offer, otherwise they would allow you to look around. When i said i would not be committing today, they would not even give me a quote. The guy even had the cheek to say 'I wish i had known, i drove an hour and a half to get here'.
Solar energy is a commitment and should be thoroughly researched before any commitment is made. Steer clear of these cowboys.”
“I had solar panels installed by Project Solar UK over a year ago. Unfortunately, the installation appears to have been faulty, resulting in a persistent leak that has caused significant damage to my roof, including the trusses. Photographic evidence clearly shows that the damage originates precisely where Project Solar UK team replaced roof tiles during the initial installation. This leak has led to extensive wood rot, which the company now blames for the ongoing issue, despite the rot being a direct consequence of their initial poor workmanship. Despite this evidence and their technicians acknowledging the leak's location aligns with their original work, the company refuses to take responsibility. This lack of accountability is deeply concerning, especially given the ongoing damage and potential safety hazard the leak poses.
To resolve this issue and ensure the necessary repairs are made, I will be pursuing legal action against Project Solar UK. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. While I initially had high hopes for them, their post-installation service and warranty support have been extremely disappointing.”
“I do not recommend these scammers. They changed their name because they had too many bad comments. They installed panels for me 5 years ago that are still not working properly and they want £325 for an engineer's visit to check them. Don't be fooled by this company's scams. I haven't had a grid for over a year. I've been contacting them for 5 years and reporting problems and they do nothing about it. I've lost over £22k”
“It was a badly fitted system from thee start, the batteries had to be replaced after a month because they didn't work. Production was intermittent and finally after 3 years it stopped working altogether. Project solar passed me from pillar to post so I ended up paying for an independent report and scaffolding. Then there was the cost of fixing it. Project solar are trying very hard not to pay up, but interestingly are willing to pay for the independent damning report.”
“The Sales Representative, who visited, gave incorrect and misleading information. When the contract was signed and the installation date agreed, the Company determined that my roof tiles were unsuitable. Someone was supposed to visit to examine the tiles, but I have my doubts that anyone did. The Company cancelled the contract leaving me with a lot of problems to sort out. I certainly will not have anything to do with Project Solar UK again. I will not recommend them to friends and family and I would urge anyone reading this review to bear in mind my experience before proceeding with this Company.”
“Costly mistake - I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole!
Project Solar UK installed in June 2019, this is the third time we are having to call them out due to issues with the installation. To date, we can't even tell if we have made a penny of saving as their call out charges of a hefty £325 defeats the purpose of us even having solar panels. They make you sign small print which apparently allows them to continue to rip vulnerable customers off. It's been a costly mistake! Do not go anywhere near this company if you need solar panels installed - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!”
“bad experience and will advice anyone to stay away. I wanted to install solar panels and batteries and Project solar was the first to call me. They arranged a day for the survey to be done which I accepted. on the day, Mark was sent and he went through everything and he also did a survey which he confirmed that all was fine. after everything Mark made me and wife sign nearly 20 pages of paperworks and he also did a credit check for the finance which was approved. I also paid £250 as deposit on the day. Mark booked an installation date. To be honest I was happy with everything until the next day i got a call saying the installation has been cancelled that my roof tiles is not suitable for the panels. i said ok but why did Mark, your surveyor, who spent 3 hrs in my house doing all the checks and he did not spot that the roof tile were not suitable and there response was that Mark was not a roof specialist. so to cut the story short, Project solar sent me an incompetent surveyor to do survey which is very worrying and secondly he made me pay deposit of 250 which Project solar have turn around to say that my deposit will take 14 days to be paid back to me because I signed the paperwork which is also worrying because yes i signed the paper but I was not the one who broke the contract but rathe Project solar did. and thirdly, they have done a hard credit check on me and that will remain in my credit file for 3 to 6 months and that means I cant apply for any credit facilities within that time. Project solar is a disgrace for sending out an in competent person to do a survey which makes me wonder if the panels would have been installed by a competent engineers or diy engineer, only God knows. And refusing to pay me back my money for them bridging there own contract and putting the blame on me shows how bad the company is and would advice anyone to stay away.”
“Beware of these scammers. They will sell the stuff then worst customer service starts. I call them scammers because they offer you a very attractive incentive. They say “if you bring 4 customers your panels are fully pai off” which is trapping more customers through an existing customer who is already trapped is a £10k debt. Their customer service sucks as they keep telling you that we have a written contract so you are bound to live with it. Can’t say anything good about them because I can’t think of one.
In my case the initial survey was wrong. The brilliant agent worked out 12 panels can be fitted on the roof. When fitters came they couldn’t fit more than 5 panels. Rest is the bad experience. Their way of customer service proving you in wrong because you have signed a contract. If they call or knock at your door, just slam the door shut. It’s not worth wasting your time listening to their garbage.”
“I have just started looking solar panels for my property. I tried to arrange a quote however Project solar would only arrange if my husband was there, and was told he would need to make the decision: How sexist!!
I have now read the reviews below and pleased that I end my call.”
“Installation teams were very friendly and efficient. Trying to get an answer from their customer care regarding getting the scaffolding taken down and been fobbed off for so many weeks with times and dates that the scaffolding company new nothing about their customer care team blamed the scaffolders and the scaffolders blamed project solar. Want our money but don't want to deal with complaints or problems. I fear for the future with our solar panels reading these reviews.”
“So glad the appointment didn't proceed after reading these reviews. Received a call on a Sunday morning to confirm the appointment the next morning. I confirmed this was still fine and mentioned I was working and my partner would be at the appointment. Sales chap was really rude and said we both needed to be there. I explained I couldn't change my working hours and he said there's no point meeting and promptly hung up! AVOID”
“I’m giving just 1 star purely for the after sales care. Installations went really smoothly and professionally, nothing to complain about. Installation happened in early August. We have tried to contact the office to arrange for an engineer to visit, we have few issues with the application and problems with the system itself. Still no visit or explanation from anyone and we are in October!! We are very disappointed with the customer care, bearing in mind the amount of monies we have spent on the product. Seems like there is nobody in the there willing to help with the very important issues we have been having. At the moment based on the poor customer care, highly unlikely I will be recommending a product from Solar Project.”
“These have got to be to worst solar panel installers in the country, the state of my roof once the panels had been installed was atrocious, tile broken and stuck with mastic, they did come back after I complained to replace the broken tile only for me to check after they had said everything is now put right only for me to find another 14 tiles needing replace that’s a total of 42 tiles, please do not use this company the workmanship has to be the worst in the country”
