Great kit to electrify my favorite bike. However, after two years the battery isn’t lasting as long. I have it charging all winter, too.

Very pleased in all aspects and enjoyed the build which was just as expected. Bit of a snag initially with pedal assist sensor but customer service helped me through it. Have just bought a second battery but due to family issues have done little riding recently. Performance is better than I expected and can ride up hills now at 77 that I could not at 27! p

This makes biking infinitely more fun and easier. I really love this and even got the bigger battery. I bike more now than I ever did. It’s totally worth it. However, it’s not perfect. The batter display and the actual lights on the battery vary greatly in how much battery life is left, which I find really confusing. The battery itself shows lots of range but the display says it’s almost empty and it’ll die, but the battery says there’s still lots of life… I also found that the battery (15km range one) is starting to die before 15km and I’ve only really used it for one season. My display also died just after 1 year, like weeks after, and I had to pay for a new one.

I have the first version. There were problems with the battery pack (the motor only worked intermittently, which is not nice in a hilly area) but customer support was very rapid and helpful and eventually sent me a new pack. After that I was a happy user for years. But now it doesn't work any more, first because folding and unfolding my Brompton led to damage to the cables and just recently my bike got flooded so the motor stopped working altogether. But I think I'll just order a new kit.

It's a great little do it your self kit for someone that likes putting it on their bike of choice. Only criticism is battery only lasted a tad over a year and was not honored for warranty replacement. Got a battery with twice the power for half the cost on Amazon.

I am a first generation adopter (2020) and the system is generally wonderful. Ive upgraded to the Max Battery system. I love my touring bike and I can remove the battery if I want a 'normal' light-weight ride. I also have an off-road bike fitted with the same system. For my daughter's bike I arranged for a mounting clip on the down tube for the battery to keep the centre of gravity lower. She says this has worked well. The customer support was not good in the early days but I think that has gradually improved over time. I'd say steer clear of the Air Battery. it may be suitable for carrying on an aircraft but otherwise pretty useless. I also hated the enhanced switcher since rather than switching up and down through the power ranges, it was cylclic ie you have to go up to level 5 before you can get back to level 1. Stupid Design. I gave mine back to the shop!

So we have two Swytch Bikes. they both work exceptionally well and we are very happy. my only complaint is I wish the battery did not have to be mounted on the handle bars. We have the very first version and the battery on the handle bars makes it unsteady on the side stand. so a set of extension cables for the wiring to mount the Battery some where else would be super appreciated. all in all though it is a great product. when you already have your favorite bike but wish it had a little power on the hills the Swytch bike is so easy to assemble and painless this is the answer. I had to deal with customer service a lot on my order with a warranty problem and the people and response was very good.

I have the original kit. All went well for over two years until I had some issues that customer support fixed after a couple of replacement parts sent. It was just out of warranty so very impressed with the service. However it’s now cutting out on me every ride after a mile or so. I suspect it’s the battery pack which, though a few years old, hasn’t done many miles as it’s my ‘pub bike’. I’d like to just replace it with a newer pack and controller but every time I look I can’t work out what I need to order as there are a number of options now. Mainly laziness on my part I’ll admit. Loved the product for the first few years though.

My wife and I stopped cycling for 20 years. We resumed riding during the pandemic for fitness until I developed a tear in my meniscus. Adding the Swytch kit to both of our bikes enabled us to resume cycling again. It was easy to add the kit and maintain it. So much less expensive that buying an electric bike outright. We've been happy with them since.

Easy install and set up. A little pricier than others elec bikes BUT it’s quality materials, easy to modify (throttle or pedal assist) and you modify your existing bike (saving bikes from the rubbish).

I own two of the older eco battery type units. I have had them for several years and experienced several problems along the way. The first issue was malfunctioning of the motor controller while under the warranty. Swytch replaced two controllers for me. The other problem was the 20 18650 cells in the battery became unbalanced over time and caused performance problems. I ended up opening up the battery packs and wiring individual leads to each battery set in order to balance them. This has helped significantly. I think the original BMS that was shipped with them was insufficient. I had another problem with the brake sensor that caused the unit to fail to engage the motor which I remedied by unplugging the sensor and not using it. Also, the LED display on one of the batteries doesn’t show the battery level unless it’s actually connected to the handlebar bracket and module, which is a minor inconvenience. However, after I made these modifications the kits remain usable as I am now able to balance the battery cells manually with a custom charger that I built myself using a series of 10 lithium ion battery charge control boards. I’m the mechanical engineer so this was something I could handle, but I wouldn’t recommend the average user doing this. I do recommend that swytch uses a better BMS for their products, or provide a balance charger.

The bike is powerful even on P1. Fitting was a bit fiddly and have done 1 star less than 5 as the sensor for the pedal is a glue on and cable ties as had to cut off the loops to fit so feels not a solid lasting system but can see the new version this has been overcome on the design but overall feels good.

After my initial problems with handlebar battery connectors, I have been very pleased with the entire kit on all three of my bicycles. The batteries have out performed the distances indicated and the speeds are as specified. My only critique is that you have not informed me as to how I can transition from my old batteries to the new batteries as the old begins to lose their efficiency, i.e. on shorter rides use the old and longer rides use the new. Can you please advise me of how to manage this transition. I have attached photos of one of my current applications. Thank you.

Like the simple design and performance. Customer service is inconsistent. Great and poor. Too many shipment errors: Wrong item sent or missing parts.

We’ve had our Swytch kits for 4 years now. The one issue we had after a couple of years was promptly resolved by the Swytch Team. We like our light weight bicycles as opposed to a heavy e-bike and were happy to be able to convert them! The peddle assist allows us to go further and a bit faster while still allowing us to get the exercise we desire. We are very happy with our choice to go with Swytch!

Added this to my Trek 400 hybrid and it does what is needed for my wife who really didn't like hills. Even at the lowest power, it works great for those gradual, but long uphill inclines. The only downside is that the battery weight on the handlebars does make the handling a lot different, plus the added weight is never a plus. Still like it a lot and far less costly than a new electric bike.
