“I paid almost $10,000 for a professional publication of my book almost four years ago. The company did not do what they promised in their contract including things like editing, marketing, etc. In actuality, I did all of the corrections and necessary changes. They produced an audio book using an AI voice that was lifeless--lacking inflection and incorrectly pronouncing words. They promised to re-do the audio book, but have not done so. They have never given me an accounting of costs or royalties. I recieved $1,000.00 with no explanation. Given the price they set for the book, the $1K does not make sense. I've asked for a refund--not the entire amount because they did so some work albeit substandard and ultimately a lack of professional quality and care in the completed project. To date I have not received a refund and nothing has been addressed except excuses about having to fire people and restructure the organization. That's been seven months since I requested a refund.”
