I should have read the reviews before sending my money. They are not a publisher, they are subcontracting. The illustrations they sent me can be found online, so I ended that, but they still owe me $700.00 in marketing. They don't respond to emails, or calls. It is very frustrating when I have book signings lined p and I can't get the book wholesale, they make the money on sales and no marketing. $700 is a LOT of money for me. Do NOT use these people.

American Author House operates at a Three Stooges level of incompetence. The only problem with that statement is that no one at American Author House is smart enough to be Moe. I signed a deal with American Author's House for two novels. Darka's Quest and Severed Ties. American Author House posted two entries of Darka's Quest on Amazon. Despite my many pleadings, the extra listing is still on their website. I later paid $250.00 to change the cover. They made a new cover that met my approval. Unfortunately. They never uploaded it to IngramSpark. That is only the beginning. I had to pay an extra $400.00 to divide Severed Ties into two books. Severed Ties and Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge. American Author House posted an extra incorrect listing of Severed Ties II. Lenore'r Revenge on Amazon. I had to jump through hoops to get it taken down. They delayed the release of the paperback Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge because they misspelled the title. I had to correct that blunder. They then told me that they uploaded Severed Ties to Ingram Sparks. That was a lie. They then uploaded Severed Ties with the cover to Severed Ties II. Lenore's Revenge. Any of these errors of competence and negligence on their own may be excusable. Yet the taken as a whole and that American Author House is incapable of correcting their screw-ups makes them a firm to avoid. They will also attempt to sell you marketing packages that are a consummate ripoff. I purchased a social media package for Darka's Quest for $1,100.00. They made me open the social media sites. They did not open a Facebook page. Their postings were AI-written drivel. Please heed my advice. Avoid American Author House like toxic nuclear and biological waste

It has taken them almost a year to get the right version of my book uploaded to the publishing sites. I have had at least six project managers, all overseas as far as I can tell. Bad communication and no follow up. Wrong ISBN number issued. I have asked to talk to a supervisor, no response. I am glad I hired an outside editor to start with as their editing was just formatting with a number of mistakes.

Buyer Beware.... These reviews are fake. American Author house is a company that preys on vulnerable new authors. They even manipulate these reviews to give the impression that they are trustworthy. AAH receives a 99%, 5 star rating because they wrote the reviews. I will repeat this again... BUYER BEWARE. My experience with AAH was terrible. The "project manager" was a con man who only wanted to max out my credit card with promotional advertising, book fairs, and publication articles. I lost thousands of dollars when the items that I paid for were never fulfilled. AAH refuses to give me my money back even though the my article was never published and my book was never displayed at the book fair. All their hype about creating a high quality book cover, web page, etc. is nonsense. Their work was so bad that I ended up doing just about everything myself. It appears to me that AAH uses inferior third party sources to provide services to new authors caught in this deceptive marketing trap. I would stay away from this company and don't be fooled by these fake reviews.

In September of 2023 I paid American Author House 3000.00 to self publish my book. So far I am deeper into this nightmare and it's only getting worse. Right now I am working or at least was working with someone named Hazel Brian. She is rude and keeps telling me she needs to keep a chapter for a week so her team of editors can get the chapter's done perfectly. We'll I am sorry to say they must be sleeping through the process. They definitely are not reading the chapter's. Now I am into them for 4000.00 because they said it was 500.00 more for it to come out in hard back.... then there was the 500.00 for the copy right. I do think they should have told me those things upfront.
