I was hoping that the shutters installed would have a tighter seal against the sun.

We have used Classic Blinds on a number of occasions for shutters in our apartments and have always been delighted with the service and quality of product received. Unfortunately our experience this time was somehwat disappointing. We enquired about a blockout curtain for our bedroom and visited the Showroom in Parry Street. We were shown fabrics and what we thought was an example of what we were receiving if ordered, but what we ended up with was not what we were shown in the showroom. The curtains we ordered we understood woud have a backing curtain (blockout) loosely stitched to the front curtain but 'apparently' this costs extra. What we received were curtains that are attached to the backing fabric with a plastic 'labelling gun' type thing. It looks clumsy, and very very cheap. I was told that this is industry standard but I think it may be the 'basic;' standard of whoever the supplier is that Classic Blinds are using. An example of this type of 'join' is not what is shown in the Showroom and if we had been told the stitiching cost extra - we would have paid for this. The Customer service staff were lovely and did offer for us to have the curtains taken down and sent to Sydney to have them stitched but we declined this offer as it is a very large window/door space with direct morning sun and we really didn't want to risk being without a window covering for what could be an extended period of time. Just a heads up for anyone ordering curtains to clearly know what you can expect once the curtains are made. Hopefully Classic will also have an example in the Showroom moving forward of all options purchasers have in regards to the curtain finishes.

As we mentioned, this situation arose due to a new staff member who was not yet fully familiar with every detail of our product range, and we are committed to ongoing training to prevent this from happening again in the future. In this instance we have offered multiple times to rectify the issue promptly (within a 3-day turnaround), and that offer still stands. We are reasonably happy with the product installed, the outer frame sealing feature works well but we are a little disappointed with the light leakage coming through around the blade structures. We had hoped for a lot less external light penetration. The Service we received was excellent.

Appointment time was between 12 and 2pm. Arrived at 545pm. Waited around all afternoon. Shutter looks good.

I felt that the process was too long.... measuring up twice delays the process....measure once correctly then the delay on fabric arrival was disappointing as I initiated the chase up to be advised there was a problem with the fabric arrival when we were under the impression that fabric would be here in Newcastle factory. Deposit paid end of January installation week 2 of March ....

The blinds and curtains look good. The consultant was helpful and showed a good selection of fabrics. The installer did a great job with the installation. Thankyou to both. Since the installation there has been no follow up, and no acknowledgement of my payment..somewhat disappointing in this regard.
