“The service at Conveyancing Direct has been absolutely fantastic throughout the purchase of a new BTL property. My brother who has a large portfolio of properties has always used CD and recommended them highly. Our case handler, Chris Prucharski was so approachable and always on hand to answer any questions or concerns I had especially given there had been very long delays from the lender side due to Covid, however Chris regularly kept in touch to keep me informed of progress and done his utmost to ensure the process was as seamless as possible. The degree of professionalism, helpfulness and effectiveness was outstanding. I would without question recommend and use them myself again in the future!

Got moved between solicitors, first one was totally irrespectful, never replied to a single email (I sent him about 10 emails over about two weeks time and Never got any reply!) and never informed about any progress on our case (there was no progress at all). Finally got moved to another solicitor only after complaining and saying that we will move our business somewhere else, and the second solicitor did better job although still not as good as you would expect spending thousands of pounds of your money you have been working hard to earn in the first place.

“Stay away! As a first time buyer i had questions, and my case handler didn't answer them first time, i had to repeatedly email the same question asking. The case handler also spoke over me whilst i was on the phone with her. Not very organised or helpful at all. Surprised we completed within the timescales!”
“Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through.
One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late?
I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail.
If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too.
There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.”

“I can’t believe or rather I can believe how many people have complained about this company. This company is the sellers solicitor, my side (the buyer) have been chasing for weeks. They’ve gave false information, failing to send replies to enquiries and I am already on week 9 of enquiries and can’t see an end in site. A complaint was raised on Monday but the communication has been shocking and next to none!”
“Our chain is simply First time buyers me and my sellers want cash. Started well then the cracks started appearing on how bad this company can be. Firstly solicitor, I can only imagine goes on holiday 3 weeks and leaves the case with no one . That's 3 weeks just before what we believed had everything in place and ready for exchanges but no, on their return they say the enquiries have not been checked so another week goes by. Once done silence for another week . Called the estate agents to see what the issues are. They call our buyers to see the hold up only to be told they have not been asked for anything FOR 5 MONTHS . Their welcome pack not asked for , the searches not asked for ,absolutely nothing( The things that you'd expect to be looked at within the first month). Finally after escalating the matter the searches took place and we're told 3 weeks later that they were awaiting 1 document from our buyers which the buyers sent them promptly. Another week has now passed and once again neither the estate agent or our solicitors can get hold of them. If this is a service you want 6+ months of waiting and still waiting even after escalating the matter to seniors then they are the solicitors for you. But if you want anything done then I would avoid them like the plague. I spoke to a gentleman in an estate agents about this and from what I found is companies like these allocate 1 hour a week for your case if you're lucky .

“Just under £2,500 in fees from this company. The transaction was a simple transfer of ownership, only 2 houses involved. We know we've been over-charged simply based on the level of service we received from them.
Over 4 weeks to answer a simple question... I wouldn't mind, but it was in response to a question they sent to me. I chased a number of times for a response but didn't receive one until I got visibly frustrated in an email.
Then, at the end, we had a bit of confusion about the money that was owed. Not once did someone ring me and say sorry we've made an error, this is an explanation of why you owe money". This would have resolved the problem within a day. Instead every time I laid out why I didn't feel we owed anything, they repeated the same answer they gave before. Which didn't make sense!!
Honestly, avoid if you can. Poor response times, poor service, very expensive, not worth it.”

On the other hand the service with conveyancing direct solicitors was absolutely the worst I have ever dealt with!
The solicitor we were dealing with Amy was terrible. Absolutely lack of any service given to us.
There has been numerous mistakes by the solicitor and not once did we get any apology.
She sent us emails that made no sense, which I’m happy to send you! She sent us an email to sign documents one of which was the title plan which she had sent us the incorrect one, she didn’t even look at the forms she was sending us, and there was nothing on the email to state where we would need to sign it.
When my partner called Amy to ask about this title plan, he was talking to her stating this is the wrong plan we had been sent, she fobbed him off saying ‘it’s what she had been sent’ my partner then said have you got it up on your screen to have a look, she then replied no!
Then eventually after 10 minutes of back and forth telling her it’s the wrong plan she opened it up on her screen and agreed it was the wrong plan we had been sent. Lack of awareness and lack of understanding of doing her job which she gets paid for
The solicitor, was very quick to ask us for money and pay and send us the invoice again without checking it properly, we had to contact her and tell her things were incorrect on it, so she sent us another one then another one as there was an error.
All three invoices with mistakes they made but lack of acknowledgment that it was their issue.
We told the solicitors from the start we had a mortgage broker, when we were sent the invoice she had put the fee for the mortgage lender, when I asked my mortgage broker they said the solicitor should have told us this.
When we spoke to Amy she said they do things completely ‘different’ to our mortgage broker, if that was the case she would have noticed that she had not got the correct money from the bank for the loan and told us we had to pay an additional £999 towards what we were told that would have been added to the loan!
When I asked her about this I stated that if she did her checks she would have realised this prior.
She then became very rude and abrupt with my over the phone saying she had done nothing wrong, again lack of acknowledgment and very rude.
Absolutely worse communication, terrible service!! Would not recommend”
