“Loads of information, and its easy to follow. Ive lost around 8kg in 70 days, and don't feel deprived. I have yet to engage on the forums but all the other resources are phenomenal. I have been on lots of other sites to learn how LCHF can send diabetes into remission, but defeat diabetes is my daily go to.”

“I was chosen to participate in the Latrobe University's researh project, assessing the effect of the Defeat Diabetes dietary recommendations, on individuals experiencing chronic knee pain. I was fortuitously selected to be in the Defeat Diabetes low carbohydrate coterie of participants. The explanatory material I received, took me on a journey of discovery into the scientific research that challenged the fundamental dietary recommendations I'd been 'fed' throughout life. Not having a sweet tooth, I found restriction of sugars and starches relatively easy. Restricting carbohydrates to around 50 gms daily was achieved by replacing pasta, rice and potatoes with cauliflower, croccoli and zucchini. I quite diligently adhered to the dietary recommendations, generously using olive oil and butter, which i'd avoided for years. I focussed on eating natural foods, increasing consumption of eggs, meat and fish. I am not diabetic. Within 6 weeks there was a significant reduction in arthritic pain in my knees, hips, shoulders and hands. I thought, "Well, something is different." After 3 months I was 'hooked.' I told the dieticians, "I'm not yet a disciple, but I'm a devotee!" I was able to halve my consumption of pain relieving and anti-inflammatory drugs. When I began, I thought I would need a bi-lateral knee replacement within a year or two. The 3rd month clinical physical exercise tests indicated my fitness had measureably improved, despite little or no change to my regular exercise regime. I had naturally lost a few kilos. By 6 months I was looking good and feeling well. Pain in one knee was hardly notable. When tested at 12 months my physical performance had significantly improved in both pace and stamina. I could perofrm 50% more seated squats to a standing position, without aggravating my knees. It is approaching 18 months since I began the dietary program and I remain dedicated to my maintenance of weight and relative fitness. I've shed 8kgs, am in the healthy BMI range and weigh the same as when I was a fit 20 year old amateur athelete. I'm sleeping well, intestinal discomfort is a thing of the past. I've come to realise how universally detrimental our modern "western" diet is to our phsyical and mental health and well-being. Through this experience, and my new found knowledge, I'm confident that I'm unlikely to ever become diabetic. More personally, I now doubt that I'll ever need knee replacement operations. Thank you Drs. Brukner and Mason!”

“As a fit female, who didnt really enjoy sweets or desert, I was suprised when My Doctor told me I had Pre diabetis, It seemed like I was doomed to have everything under the sun wrong with me, High Cholesterol came first then High Blood pressure, arthrits in most joints, and osteoposrsis, ( I take Prolia every six months ) Nuropathty, But this was me and My lord I could control everything, then out of the blue she asked to have a blood test for blood sugar levels, Hummm easy peasy I didnt eat lollies didnt have desert except on special occasions, didnt even like chocolate and hardly ever ate icecream biscuits never, but I did have 2 teaspoosnful of sugar in my tea, and I love tea. So I cried for about a week, I mean heavy sobs why me? My Brother just afew years younger ( I will b e75 in two weeks ) didnt have anything wrong with him, I Have to fight my self with the pain from Osetoarthrites, and I do, I walk row, bike all at home watching you tube, but how could I ever drink my tea without sugar, I didnt want to become diabetic, but what could I do wait until my docotr tells me its time to start insulin. So hear I was still in tears still feeling sorry for me. And then I watched a video with Dr Bruckner in which at first I didnt belive a word he said, Honestly I didnt, but what else was there out there, so I joined defeat Diabetes slowly and I mean slowly went through all the Videos and the lessons some I had to watch twice, could not believe how much sugar was in our food, tried a few recipes, listend to Paul and the English doctor (Forgot his name ) listened to advice from Nicole, and by the end of the week had slightly changed my Diet, made a few low carb meals, and blow me down I lost a kilo, and so it went on, each week a kilo unntil I went from 73 kilos to 62, it flutuates between 62 63 kilos, Blood pressure was lower, I was sleeping 8 solid hours, My doctor has me on a lower blood pressure pill now, Hanging to get off them, not sure yet what my cholestrol is I will find out in August. The Gentlemen and ladies on facebook offer heaps of advice Now do i sometimes have that mashed potatoe, I do, do I sometimes have that small plate of Pasta yes I do, I sometimes swap cauli rice for real rice, yes i do, but rarely very rarely, so does defeat diabetis really work, I have to give a thumbs up becaue it really does, and for someone who didnt know how much sugar was in a slice of bread, I feel I am just a littel bit of an expert now, I took Nicoles advice and shop on the outskirts of the shopping center. Some of the recipes I tried didnt really work out, or I didnt like them but perserverance, is the Key I would and have recomended defeat diabetis to a few people, weather they take up that advice is up to them, but for me personally I could not be happier. So yes defeat diabetis really does work. A Great big Thank you to all.”

“I think the Defeat Diabetes program is absolutely incredible. The information provided and clear explanations of the science is second to none. My failures in making more improvements to my health are mine alone but having re-read Dr. Brukner's appeal to the Australian Government I'm determined to start over and really make some headway this year.”

“Cannot speak too highly of the programme. For the first time ever I had information explaning clearly the causes and effects of T2 Diabetes (I no longer have it) and the real issue of insulin resistance.”

Mick, that’s fantastic to hear – and even better to hear you no longer have type 2 diabetes! Knowing the why behind it all really does make the difference, especially when it comes to insulin resistance. We're so glad the program helped connect the dots and put you back in control. Thanks for the kind words – and well done! - Defeat Diabetes Team

“Yesterday I listened to the webinar between Peter and Belinda Fettke which was just mind boggling as to the control over the medical profession including GP's and Dieticians that the various US Religious organisation have around the World. It clearly showed why there is so much resistance by the medical establishment amd dieticians in Australia to Defeat Diabetese advice. We need to brain storm how to get your message into the media and Government circles. Perhaps a past TV News Director or Government Media advisor could be employed to advise how to put the message on Four Corners, A Current Affair or 60 Minutes for a start. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.”

Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback, Robert. That webinar with Dr Brukner and Belinda Fettke certainly opened a lot of eyes – it's staggering how deep the influence goes and how it’s shaped the advice many still follow today. We completely agree: more people need to hear the truth. We’re working hard behind the scenes to amplify our message, and your ideas are spot on. Getting this into the media and government spotlight could be a real game-changer – and yes, we need to be that squeaky wheel! Thanks for your support and passion – it really helps drive us forward. - Defeat Diabetes Team

“After been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes about 3 years ago, I found the Defeat Diabetes web page. After joining the program and following the wonderful recipes, and stories from other diabetic's. I was able to go into diabetic remission with in 6 months. I was over the moon, very proud of myself. My doctor could not believe my test results. This all happened because Dr Peter Brukner and his wonderful staff. My sugar readings are alwys between 4.5 5.5mmol/I eachtime i test. Dont get me wrong, I work very hard looking after my self, and yes sometimes i do full, but i just do better with my net meal.”

“I've been following the DD program for almost 2 years now, and it has changed my life. Having had T2 diabetes for 8 previous years, which was gradually getting worse, with meds ever increasing, I'm now delighted to be in remission and off all medication - all down to a great GP, and the DD program. The support from DD is amazing, and very informative. I learnt so much from the lessons when first joining the program, and it made so much sense, which made following the program easy. When the science is explained to you in an understandable way, making positive changes becomes easier. I love the fact that I'm eating delicious real food, knowing that I'm doing the right thing for my health.”

Sharon, this is such an inspiring story – remission after 8 years of type 2 and off all meds is truly life-changing! It’s amazing what can happen when you have the right guidance, a supportive GP, and a program that actually makes sense. We couldn’t agree more – when the science is clear and the food is real and delicious, sticking with it becomes so much easier. Thank you for being part of the DD community and for showing others what’s possible! - Defeat Diabetes Team

“I joined Defeat Diabetes, just over a year ago. The videos by Dr Peter Brukner, Dr Paul Mason & Nicole Moore, accredited low-carb dietician, were eye-opening. I am grateful to all of them for imparting their scientific knowledge, explaining the detrimental effects of blindly following the standard dietary guidelines, busting the myths of high LDL, and simplifying the low-carb/keto lifestyle, which I have now embraced. I also find the ongoing webinars helpful. Dr Brukner’s book “A Fat Lot of Good” was a great source of information, when I began my low-carb journey. Defeat Diabetes has been instrumental in sending my diabetes into remission after thirty one years, quite a remarkable feat! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Dr Brukner & your brilliant team!”

“When it was launched, it caught my eye, it was a different perspective to the usual information. After reading what I could and understanding what was being said, especially from a renown sports doctor, who just happened to be associated with Liverpool FC, as I follow Liverpool, I knew I should give it a chance. The information regarding diabetes was targeted at type 1, type 2 is so different, thus you need a different approach. I joined with an open mind, as my BBL was up and down dramatically, plus I felt awful. So I hit it hard and noticed changes happening within 3 weeks, more energy, weight loss and I felt good. Carefully following the meal recipe's I lost over 32kg, and BBL dropped to 6.1 from 9.5. It can get hard, but stick at it and you will certainly feel and see the changes. It is life changing, and for the better.”

“The defeat diabetes program was a life saver for me when I really needed it. I was diagnosed with a HbA1c of 10.5 , random BS of 20, high cholesterol, bit D in my boots . Metabolic syndrome +++. I adopted a low carb regime and turned my health around. Defeat diabetes made it much easier, lots of support and evidence based information that I used to help me. I have reversed my very poor health and outlook . Very pleased.”

“I was a classic Type 2 Diabetes person. I didn't have a clue about diet and the medical profession wasn't leaping in to give me any sort of structure. Most professionals at doctor and nurse level were resigned to me being resigned to increase my medication and when that stopped working change to something else. Defeat Diabetes gave me both a structure and support mechanism. I am not that precise but the low carb approach was my salvation. I got to 5.6 from 8.2 and have hung just under 6. I lost 16 kilos and maintained it. DD I believe has saved my life”

Wow Robert – what an incredible turnaround! Thank you for sharing your story. It’s so common to feel lost in the system, with no clear guidance beyond more meds. But you took charge, found the structure and support you needed, and your results speak for themselves: from 8.2 to 5.6, 16 kilos down, and steady. That’s no small feat – and we’re so proud to have been part of your journey. You’ve truly shown what’s possible with the low carb approach. - Defeat Diabetes Team
