This company is SCAM. I rented car with them and unfortunately my flight was delayed. I called the supplier and discover cars and been told that I didn't show up and the car now is gone. Of course they charge me full amount. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Dear Rafal, We are really sorry for this flight delay. For reservations where payment is made in advance, we send the amount directly to the agency, leaving only a small portion with us, related to our commission. Whenever there is a flight delay, the customer must file a claim directly with the airline. Our providers can guarantee the vehicle up to 1 hour late by the customer, after which the reservation is automatically cancelled. However, we always try to help the customer as much as possible and in this case specifically we will refund 50% of the amount back to your card, 194.20 euros. Unfortunately, you did not purchase our full coverage and therefore you were completely unprotected. Full coverage is very important to cover this type of damage to the vehicle. I booked a car with DiscoverCars and paid their insurance - however when I got to the car rental desk I was asked to pay an additional 'admin fee' of $300 because I didn't take the car company's insurance, so I had no choice but to pay $350 extra and take the car company's insurance. When I got back home and spoke to DiscoverCars Customer Care about the issue they just ignored the fact of the $300 admin fee and claimed I had taken the rental company's insurance to lower my deposit (which was a conversation that never took place). Then customer care just ignored my follow-up emails. PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THIS IF YOU CHOOSE TO BOOK WITH DISCOVER CARS

The terms and conditions were not clear so when I thought something was covered when we an accident it wasn’t and they pulled out an excess of 475 euros which was nowhere on our documents from them. I feel had. They need to be clear what will or won’t be covered as when hiring cars abroad we want security. First and last time we will use them. The car hire company they work with however was good.

Say they have free cancellation but do not make it clear that you get a credit that lasts 3 years towards a future booking rather than your deposit back

STAY AWAY!! I’ve traveled all over the world and “Rented cars from every company” this one is the WORST I booked my car with “Discover Car Rental” thinking it was a good deal, but it wasn’t, I initially canceled my booking and by mistake I took CREDIT not my money back (Make sure you read it’s all in small Print) I’ve called customer service several times, but they wouldn’t refund me my money back that they took. I found a better deal with the same company “Discover Car Rental” With the total of $950 CAD , credit was applied with the initial booking which was $237, when I got my credit statement they’ve charged me 2 separate transactions $950 and $237. They’ve scammed me for $237 CAD When I arrived at Zagreb Airport to pick the car up by gentleman name; Tomislav has helped me with my vehicle, when he assigned me the car he asked his co worker if this car was fixed and good to go, his co worker responded “YES car is good to go” my respond right a way was: is there something wrong with the car that I should be aware of -He said NO all good, car is good to go. This car has stalled on me more than 7 times on a highway, on the side of the road where cars can barely go by, it’s very dangerous and unsafe. The car starts shaking and “the engine light comes on” I called customer service at the airport and spoke with the same gentleman name: Tomislav (the guy that initially gave me the car) He told me Sorry nothing we can do about it here is the number and call “Road assistance and deal with it” Excuse me deal with it? They knew the car was not fixed and gave it to me, when I’m on my vacation and paying for something or anyone out there “I Expect it to be in working condition” or if something is wrong with the CAR simply give me the new one which I did ask for it, (BUT since they live in Corrupt Country, and there is no such a thing they tell you) “GOOD LUCK call someone and deal with it yourself” They didn’t even try to help, or finding a solution If any of you get this car be aware it will stall on you randomly: I have received a following CAR: Model: Corsa Colour: Orange Plate: ZG8516IN When I was returning the car lady by name: Lana was sitting at the front desk I tried to tell her what the problem was with the car, she was very rude and didn’t want to hear it, and told me to go back and return the car where I picked it up from. Telling the guy on the phone “Please Argue in my name Lana and tell me off” I told her first able I understand Croatian language and 2nd you’re very unpleasant and rude. STAY AWAY!! Absolutely never, ever booking with Discover cars again. The WORST

Dear Gordana, Thank you for your message. First, we would like to clarify that every time the customer cancels the reservation through the website, the system returns the amount as a credit. If you want the money back on the card, you should always send us a message or call us. We have a note on this reservation and I see that at no time our operators refused to return the money to your card. What is written on your reservation is, the customer have doubts in how to use the credit for her next reservation. And I see that the operator instructed you correctly. The first purchase of 237 CAD was canceled and returned as a credit, the second purchase was debited with the amount of the reservation minus the credit it had, which means, we did not charge any extra amount from your card. Related to the technical problem in the vehicle, we are very sorry about this fact, it really does not happen very often. We are the intermediary and not the local agency. Vehicle maintenance is the sole responsibility of the local branch. However, in these case, we will take note and contact them to investigate this case further. Our first time booking a car through Discover, and it will unfortunately be our last. We booked an automatic car at Vienna airport - the price we found on Discover was a bit suspiciously low but we went for it anyway - that was mistake number 1... When we arrived at the airport and got shuttled by a representative of the rental agency to their office, he informed us that it was a mistake since that agency does not keep any automatic cars. I cannot drive stick and I didn't want my partner to be driving alone for 6 days. So we definitely couldn't take the manual car that he offered us to have at the (still very low) price that we booked for. We called Discover on the spot and they were completely useless - "you have to file a claim". So we did the reasonable thing when you're stranded at an airport ahead of a roadtrip that was already planned out - we got a car on the spot from a different agency for 3 times the price we booked for. As a side note, the representative of the agency we booked from was super helpful and even drove us back to the airport even though we ended up not doing business with him. Also thank god for U-Save rental agency at Vienna airport who had a car available and gave us a decent price without booking ahead. We talked to Discover representatives on the phone during the trip, who did nothing to help and just asked that we file a claim with the invoice of the car we actually paid for. Then the email saga began, with a lot of back and forth, where Discover "generously" refunded us the insurance we paid them up front - for a car we DIDN'T GET - and only after some very strong words reimbursed us only about a third of the amount we ended up paying. This after several emails where we basically had to haggle over the amount they were supposed to pay us back. Guess we'll never see the rest of the money they owe us. Never again.

We had made a booking for a 7 seater car from FCO Airport, Rome, on 21/05/2022. But, on the booking date, our baggage was lost at the airport (FCO) and we had a delay in reaching the pickup counter by 2 hours. We already informed them about the delay using Whatsapp but did not get any reply from their end. By the time we reached, the car was already rented to someone else because as per their policy, the car should be picked up within 1 hour of the booking time else it is automatically cancelled. We had read the terms and conditions but this was mentioned under the heading "Business hours" which is not where it should reside and that too with wrong English. This is a deliberate attempt to hide necessary information from the client and extort money in the name of "no-show". As a result, we spend 2 hours in searching for another 7 seater car which was not available anywhere and finally, we had to book another car from a local vendor at double the price (2203 Euros extra). This car was not even automatic transmission (which we initially booked for). We faced so many challenges in driving since we are not accustomed with manual transmission and we had 3 senior citizens travelling with us. We already had made an initial advance payment of 241 Euro which was not even refunded to us at any point in time. Due to this negligence of providing the correct terms and conditions, we had a loss of 2444 Euros in total. We travel a lot and there are many people who look up to us for recommendations. We are facing this type of issue for the first time and will never recommend `DiscoverCars` to anyone in the future. Worst Experience ever. You have successfully ruined our trip.

Car was not at the airport when we arrived - then the next afternoon when we went to pick it we were asked to leave an open signed credit card slip for an unlimited amount. This was exactly not what they decribe you will have to do in their paperwork which states," Refundable security deposit US$ 500.00 (~£ 375.00)A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and the depost.

Rented in Merida. Discover offers insurance coverage that isn't accepted by Mex Car. But they won't refund it. Bad folks.

In Mexico, our full coverage is accepted for the vehicle, however, in some cases, the main driver must bring the mandatory local insurance with him. Bad service. I reserved a car with MEX cars in Mexico through Discover Cars. Mex Cars did not have the car we reserved upon pick up and gave us a smaller car at the same price (apparently a frequent scam for MEX cars is to only have a larger car and charge people loads more). It took us 2.5 hours to actually get our car. Mex cars have still not refunded my deposit. I took out full insurance and am now trying to take out a claim for a small scrape under the bumper and the Discover Cars website doesn't work - you can't actually upload your supporting documents. Waiting to see if they actually respond to my email and sort it out quickly.

Be aware Discover Cars charge own Ins which is wrong Discover Cars was referred to me by my friend, I booked an SUV for 1 week on 17 Jan, paid 188$ on my credit card while they stated that 54$ collision can be waived if I have own insurance, the web site would not allow me to tick it off when booking however states I can sign waiver and let agent know at counter which I did, when returning veh to the local veh operator Routes I was told to reach Discovery and when emailing today they deny and state I should have cleared that option off when booking in which this option is not actually an option on the site, on the other hand Routes showed me a screen shot of what they charged which is only 122$ and they said Discovery should not have charged me for their own insurance, next time I would never ruse Discovery site and will use local car rentals directly since they have no customer service persons to address your problems , very frustrated client
