“Finally decided to purchase the Drive2 and Blower G3 for my Kamado Big Joe III, and I am glad I did!!!
I started with a 250 test. Filled the basket with lump, set a Drive Program in the app, started the fire, shut the lid and let it go. I did not touch anything for 24 hours. Amazing results! The temperature deviation over 24 hours was +7 degrees and -4 degrees.
Smoked two butts a few days later and had the same results over a 10-hour cook. Steady with minimal temperature deviation.
If you are on the fence, I say it is worth the expense for the peace of mind and accuracy.”
“I've been smoking meat on my Kamado Joe Classic III for the last few years and the temperature control has generally been great. For long sessions (8+ hours) I still have to watch the temperature especially after I open the grill. The fireboard took less then ten minutes to set up. I did beef ribs for 8 hours at 275 and didn't have to touch the vents once, it kept the temperature within two degrees the entire time. Right after the beef ribs I did chicken wings at 325 and it brought the temp straight up to 325 and kept it there the entire time. Very impressed at how well it worked. Also love the thin competition probes, they leave much smaller holes than my meater+ and don't have to deal with the occasional disconnect. Highly recommend.”
“Works out of the box, great functionality, happy. 4 stars and not 5 because the bundle did not come with clear instructions in my view. I had to search youtube and spend time tracking down how to set sessions, make notes, adjust fan speed, etc.. An easy, quick start guide for general functionality along with helpful tips is neccesary for the bundle in my opinion.”

I have been a green egg fanatic since they came out. I have two; an XL and an XXL. A friend suggested a FIREBOARD to better control temp and to give me piece of mind to smoke while I sleep. “This review follows my third or fourth purchase of a Fireboard. The first Fireboard I purchased was their first generation, and it performs flawlessly. The next one I purchased for my son, and the other two are the FB2 with the built in drive. I use them on the Lonestar Grillz Large IVS. Pairing thier PID controller to their fan, I get rock solid consistency with each and every cook. This device will also allow you to use their preconfigured programs, or you can create your own. You can set alarms so that you can attend to other matters.
Using your personal cloud space with Fireboard, you can even control your cooker without being physically with the cooker, which frees you up to do other things. Once I had a buddy of mine monitoring & controlling my cook from Alaska (I live in Florida). You can control it with a phone app, or even from your computer on a web browser. Additionally, you can edit your cooks to keep logs that you refer to which will help you better understand your outcomes. I personally have logs that reach back to 2015/16 or so ... and I refer to them often.
This is flexability paired with it's reliability is something you simply will not find in their competitors. The innovator(s) at Fireboard aren't just thinking a thing to the point that it is comfortable to them ... they are literally thinking things to conclusion.
