“I had questions about the particular soft close hinges I was looking to replace - describing the hinges and wanting to replace like with like, so using the original mounts on the carcass and attaching to the door in the same way. I was pleased with the response I got and ordered the hinges. They took a couple of days longer to arrive than originally suggested. The hinges fitted nicely to the original mounts, but I was disappointed that the adviser didn't mention that these replacement hinges used screws to attach to the door, and didn't have the expanding cam mechanism I had described in my original question. This meant I had to glue dowels in to the locational holes in the door and the job took longer than I was anticipating. That said - all now done, and I had a happy customer.”
