ILLEGAL ADDITIONAL FEES
I ordered a beanie for $30.
With shipping fees, the total already came to nearly $50.
At delivery, UPS demanded almost $30 in additional customs fees, which were NOT clearly disclosed at the time of checkout.
Real total cost: nearly $80 for a $30 beanie.
Faced with these unexpected and excessive charges, I legally refused the parcel.
Despite this, the company is currently trying to force me to pay return fees, even though:
* I never received the merchandise
* The parcel was refused before delivery
* These return fees were NOT clearly disclosed at checkout
Today, the company hides behind its “Terms & Conditions,” even though essential information was NOT clearly disclosed before the purchase, which raises a serious transparency issue.
At this time:
* The company is still trying to charge me unjustified fees
* My bank has been officially notified
* I am initiating formal proceedings with Consumer Protection in Canada to enforce my rights
I am posting this review to prevent others from ending up in the same situation and to inform consumers that these practices are illegal. See below the violated laws:
Violation of sections 219, 224 and 272 of the Consumer Protection Act (misleading pricing, hidden fees, right to a full refund), section 1373 of the Civil Code of Québec (non-informed consent), and section 52 of the Competition Act (misleading price representation).
Avoid this company. They do not comply with Canadian consumer protection laws.”
“Giving one star at least because I actually received the product. However, I’m surprised they had pride in the product they sent me. I ordered a print on patch and what I received was a piece of thin see through fabric glued on to the hat. I asked for help and I got ‘tough love’. Would not recommend purchasing through this company.”
